I'm having problems with my USB Hub disconnecting from my external SSD. I'm using the Sabrent with the four power switches. I have it hooked up to external power but still no go.
Is anyone using a 3 or 4 port hub that works well with their ASUS G752?

Thanks a lot.

It looks like the problem may be the USB 3.0 port on the laptop. Switched ports and the drives now work.
Now I have a different problem.

Yes there Is a known issue with the left side USB 3.0 ports they'll work fine for USB 2.0 Right ports should work great for USB 3.0 I just use a right angle cable (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006C0PNJK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1I5NVH22W7OOD&coliid=I2IPQPSB02EVDM)

Go to Device manager, find the USB host Uninstall every thing USB 3.0 and Main USB. Reboot that should reinstall all the USB drivers 2.0 and 3.0 there all windows native drivers these days. If this doesn't work you may have a hardware problem?

I'm not sure if it's the right place but I'm writing first here... I have very strange problem on my G752VS-XB72K OC Edition - one of the USB ports just stopped recognising USB 2.0 devices and it's happen just like this. The port is on the right side (closest to the power cord), I've been using both right ports for connecting mouse and keyboard and before days my keyboard just stopped working. The port is not working with any 2.0 devices but with 3.0 is working just fine ! It's not working even before Windows is loaded ( in BIOS ). The problem is just with this one port, the other 3 are OK (the other 4 if you count the type C as well ). I thought it may be BIOS problem so I re-flashed the BIOS and even downgraded but nothing changed. Now I can't use the right ports for keyboard and mouse and it doesn't make any sense. I tested the port voltage and it's fine, working normal with USB 3.0 external 2.5" HDDs but not working with any 2.0 device. I don't really understand what happened. If you have any idea how to fix this issue will be appreciated. Thank You !

Yes this would be the right place. You can try to turn off charger Plus that may help, it really sounds like a hardware issue damaged socket or MB problem, which would require a RMA to service dept. to fix. Driver or BIOS problems would effect both sockets on the right side not just one

the heart of the issue is that the left USB 3.0 in G751/2 series ( and MORE ) is standalone board that does NOT get enough current ( AFAIK ) from the mainboard, which is COMPLETELY AGAINST USB 3.0 STANDARD - thus the many issues exist with the LEFT ports.\

even if you connect an external HDD to an external power, the left port still continue to make issues.

Yes, the solution is to use a right-hand USB 3.0 extension cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KVE04VU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to a 4 or 7 port USB 3.0 Hub (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TPMEOYM/ref=sxbs_sxwds-stvpv2_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=2708083022714283574&pd_rd_wg=4T9X4&pf_rd_r=EX4HVZMX4PASRXHD9H1X&pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-bottom-slot&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B00TPMEOYM&pd_rd_w=s2N85&pf_rd_i=4+port+usb+hub&pd_rd_r=c97c8757-8ccc-4723-9175-88b72d3d4638&ie=UTF8&qid=1526475961&sr=1) it keeps the cable tight against the side of the notebook out of the way of your mouse. Be sure to get a powered one. The ones I'm using don't seem to be available any longer so it potluck Sabrent looks good. I really had confidence in the Anker brand! I have been using this since the G75VW work perfectly. I only use the left ports for USB thumb drives 32 GB and smaller Even with thumb drives on the left ports transferring large files will cause issues on the left side ports

Yet another reason why I can't help but palm my face when I see the majority of ports on the right hand side of laptops. ;x

USB-C 3.0 Thunderbolt's don't work most of the time; and what ever you do don't return it to Asus, you'd be better hiring a competent local firm.
