Good evening,

I acquired a few months ago an Asus ROG G501 VW, and I notice that the keyboard lighting has its 3 levels of intensity when using FN + F3 or F4, but lighting even at the highest level remains very low.
Let me explain: in comparison with other laptop ROG (other models than the G501, like the FX502 or G551), when on my G501 I am at the highest level on the backlight keyboard, the intensity corresponds the lowest level on the G551 and FX502.
Is it normal that my G501 have such a low light? I'm wondering if there is a problem of parameters somewhere or config file, but impossible to find anything in the settings of the laptop, nor even with the ATK drivers and others .

Thank you for your opinions and help,
Regards,
Mathieu

Try comparing with another unit of the same model. It should be no problem at all. The lowest light is all you need in a dark room and you don't even need it in a lighted room.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I don't have another G501VW around.
But even in a well lightning environment it's not so easy to see the keys.
It gives the impression of having red LEDs below which are clamped in power supply (less current therefore less light intensity), or the keys too opaque.
Is there a way to control the current allocated to the backlighting of the keyboard?

Hello CocoRhum
I would recommend sending your unit for RMA if you are not sure what to do
Thank you
