Well, I'm one of those who got this damn Keyboard lag... Have had it since the laptop came out (summer) have waited for a fix, and found it on BIOS 203... I need WinFlash to install it... I download it from their site... I press Open,Next,Next,Install and I get this Error.... "Sorry, This program only supports ASUS notebook" First of, This is a NoteBook.... Second... It's G74SX (ASUS).... Third... The ****?

Everything Helps! Thanks!

Ok first off, when you want to upgrade your BIOS to the latest version (http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=G74Sx&p=3&s=336) you want to do it the safe way. It's a lot easier to brick your BIOS if you use the WinFlash utility from Asus Support :(

The Safer Method to Flash a System BIOS

1. Format a USB drive to FAT32 format.
2. Download the new BIOS and unzip it to the USB drive.
3. Remove USB drive after you're certain the file transfer is complete.
4. Restart your notebook and while the ASUS logo is on the screen press F2 or del a few times to enter the BIOS setup.
5. Find the Easy Flash Utility and insert the USB drive. Tell Easy flash where your BIOS file is then follow directions explicitely!!!
6. When your notebook restarts, enter the BIOS Setup utility again and select "Load Optimized Defaults" (I think it's f9 )
7. Save and Exit, then continue into Windows.

WinFlash is probably not working because the ATK package isn't installed or it's messed up. But that's a good thing, in this case....it saved you from using a risky method to do your BIOS update!

Uninstall WinFlash (and Asus Live Update, for that matter). Use EasyFlash to update your BIOS.

Yep - you often see the words "WinFlash" and "problem" adjacent in the same sentence in ASUS forums. EasyFlash will give you a greater chance of BIOS flash success. Here is a guide for all your BIOS flashing needs: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/174395-bios-update-guide-asus-notebooks.html
