Asus brings currently the wrong WLAN driver on the support page for the Z270E (12.0.0.285). I get only the right driver (the best is 12.0.0.262) when i enter the hardware id on https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/ (exclude the 12.0.0.278; it's not stable) or on the Motherboard-CD (12.0.0.260). When i install the wrong WLAN driver, the connection gets limited from time to time and i must reset the adapter. With the correct driver i get lags sometimes. All very strange.
I have a AVM FRITZ!Box 7490 (https://avm.de/produkte/fritzbox/fritzbox-7490/) and i have tried all combinations/settings to detect the problems.

It seems the QCA61x4A - WLAN - Chip has more than one hardware/driver revisions:

Z270E: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_003E&SUBSYS_86CD1043 - until 12.0.0.278
For the other: Other driver versions until 12.0.0.295

@Asus: Why has Asus the wrong driver for the Z270E on the Support - Page or what is wrong with Qualcomm!?

I have the same issues with wifi on my Z270E as well. It's driving me crazy because it resets several times a day. I was hoping we'd hear something from ASUS about this issue.

Built my PC on z270e some days ago and running Windows 10 64-bit Pro, and have the same issue. The connection completely drops out (all WIFI-networks dissapears from the lits) and then after 10-30 seconds the connection re-establishes.

Very annoying.. I tried to install the latest driver I could find (12.0.0.295) from https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=QCA61x4A+windows+10 but that didn't help.

Is there any one who know a fix?!

I guess I'll have to stick my PCE-AC68 PCI-E adapter into the build for now.. Very annoying.

I know it sounds like "snake oil" but download WLAN Optimizer and give it a shot (Background scan off only) -- it may resolve your issue. Not an optimal solution as this should be configurable on the driver level (Intel adapters have this setting)

I would assume this is helpful if you live in a "wifi congested" spot aside from the usual optimal channel selection, etc.

Couldn't maintain a stable connection for more than a few hours previously (no issues with other devices, just this board) -- rock solid stable for days now and I've verified that via lack of event viewer WLAN messages (resetting connection / DNS timeouts)

That sounds weird, both the LAN and the WIFI worked fine for me.
I just downloaded all the drivers for the Z270E from the support page of the motherboard, and there was no problem with those

I'm also having same issue.

Internet thru LAN Cables work fine but with WiFi keeps on disconnecting.

Whel talked to ASUS, they asked me to take the motherboard to the Service Centre for diagnostic. I told them that the issue is related to driver and not with hardware but are still asking me to take the motherboard to service centre.

Looks like the older version of driver is the solution but when searched ASUS Site, could not find older ones.
