Hi everyone,

I searched online and saw a few threads about similar issues on different Asus notebooks. Mine is similar but not exact. When I close the lid of the laptop, sometimes it doesn't stay in sleep mode. What I've noticed is, the light bars come on after sometime and stay on. Even if the lid is closed. Now, this is completely random and only present if the laptop is plugged in. Now, when this happens, I cannot open the lid and start using the laptop. The screen never comes on. I've power management set to default for everything including what closing the lid does and have tried enabling and disabling all the options in power management to see if that makes a difference. Any help is really appreciated.

My suggestion is to go into Device Manager, and check every device to see what might be enabled to wake the computer, and then test disabling that feature. Typically it's something like the network adapter, or maybe an HID compliant device. Sometimes those options also exist in the BIOS, try checking that as well.

@Aerrow - perform in ascending order:A. https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1016000/
B. re-flash your current bios. ( look under this sub-forum for more info/threads into sleepe issues and bios re-flashing ).
C. completely wipe your graphics drivers ( intel/nvidia ) using DDU (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) and install the latest from intel/nvidia official driver. ( graphics driver is related to the sleep function ).
D. run diagnostic with windows's powercfg command (http://hexus.net/tech/news/software/18551-how-use-windows-7-diagnose-system-sleep-problems/)
