I have a g752vt laptop without a m2 disk and I want to buy a samsung 960 evo 250 gb PCI Express 3.0 x4 Nvme or this laptop will handle it and if so what kind of thermopat to use this

Yeah u can easily use it, just dont foregt to update BIOS (I think there was no full support for NVMe protocol SSDs in initial version). For thermopat u will want a 1mm thick one, to place between the sandwich of your SSD and metal plate on top. The tricky part is to get the exact same screw to fix the SSD on motherboard. For my G752VY there were no additinonal screws of that kind in the notebook package nor the screw came with Samsung 950 Pro SSD I bought later. So u got to take that into account also. GL HV!

So what is the spec on the screw that is needed? how do we order this?

I dunno really. My notebook came with some simple Samsung 128G SSD on that M.2 slot that I changed for better Samsung 950 Pro SSD almost right after the purchase so I havent any troubles finding the exact same screw to hold the card in place. I was suprised that there were no additional screws in the ASUS notebook package, nor they came with the Samsung SSD package. I mean both are relativly expensive products so yeah, I expect that a customer dont need to solve such small issues on their own.

Best I can tell its a 2.0 x 3mm (CM2x3-3.3). New egg will sell you 2 for 3.99, EBay has a dozen for the same price free shipping

Thanks for the exhaustive answer :-) and someone tested g752 with ssd m2 2 times 500gb because apparently it has a limit of 500 gb for 2 slots

I don't believe that to be true that M.2 slots are limited to 500 GB, Samsung 960 Pro has up to 2TB M.2 NVME SSD (https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_4_15?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=samsung+960+pro+2tb&sprefix=Samsung+960+pro%2Caps%2C154&crid=1GDFUKEKHWLV2)each slot could use one if you could afford them.

Yeah, I dont think there should be any limitations for the SSDs space in these slots. Well, except maybe the one about BIOS, MBRs and 2.2 TB limit for a single storage capacitance. But thats not a problem right now.

Your notebook is not MBR it UEFI GPT there is no 2.2 TB limit, that was only for booting OS anyway BIOS MBR went away back in 2012 or maybe before G75VW for sure was windows 7 UEFI.

Which version of AMI Aptio do the 752s have? AMI have a few tools that I was looking at so that NVMe can be added to the 751.

The newer Aptio V has native NVMe.

The 2.2 drivers aren't properly signed by Samsung to be loaded as boot critical by the way.
you'd be able to load them if secure boot is disabled

Hey ClintIgm, I found some WHQL signed Samsung NVMe drivers that are 2.2.
I must have had an earlier version of the 2.2 drivers.
I'm going to test now to see if they work

I've attached them to the post

Asus Support I have written that samsung 960 evo is not fully compatible with the device and that only the samsung pm951 is viable and fully detectable by the g752 know bypass

Our Headquarters has informed me that this drive will be detected by the AHCI for the SATA Mode, but even after the system installation on this drive, problems may occur, as it is not fully compatible with the device. Discs that will work properly on this unit are:

SSD P3X4 512GB M2 2280 NVME S SAMSUNG / MZVPV512HDGL-00000
SSD P3X4 256GB M2 2280 NVME S SAMSUNG / MZVPV256HDGL-00000
SSD P3X4 128GB M2 2280 NVME P SAMSUNG / MZVLV128HCGR-00000

Yes what your headquarters is telling you is that you purchased a SSD that is for M.2 SATA, your computer needs the M.2 NVME model.
