Hi,

I have a maximus x hero with 8700k in a custom waterloop with EK Monoblock.
Now the first dealers offer the new Formula.
Is there any difference to my hero?

( ok i know vrm waterblock, o-led and armour)

But is there anything others to the vrm section, Power delivery or is the upgrade worth the money?

My only issue with the hero is my ram.
I used 4x8gb gskill f4-4000c18 32gb trident z.
When i use xmp ok it works but write and copy is very bad.
Read 60k write 30k copy 32k
So i have used now 3600c16 and all is fine.
But thats the only issue.

I overclocked my 8700k to 5.0ghz linx 0.8.0 stable @ 1,380v in Bios, under load adaptive with llc 4 i have 1.312V
All works fine. ( ok when i Gaming my load voltage is 1,360v but i think thats because game doesn‘t draw to much power.
I think that‘s ok. *

But back to topic, is there any big difference from the technical sight from the hero to formula?

Regards*

Not an expert here, but the diffrences that you've pointed out seem to be the only ones.

I'm more interested in where you got those offers! :)

I'm from EU and I'm dying rn to get my hands on a Formula X.

Could you please link me?

Not much that's going to make a tangible difference to your PC experience. Most of the Formula's appeal lies in the aesthetics. It's revered for showcase systems.

For some of us, our PCs are our showcase system =)
