Kdon im sorry but you would need the 3d model for the glass to work in the first place (the one with the 120hz screen).
the glasses would be pointless if you buy them.

Kdon you can buy a 3d monitor and plug it into your laptop and that should work with the glasses.

i may be wrong but im going to say wait for about a day to see what other people think/post.
i don't actually own one so my assumption about your monitor being 60hz instead of 120hz may not be true.

I think all G53 versions don't have the built-in 3D screen. There was the advertised G53SX Naked Eye 3D,
but it was never put on sale.

Your possible options for 3D viewing:
(1.) Connect your laptop via HDMI to a 3D-ready external monitor (as was mentioned above).
(2.) If your laptop is still within the Return Policy of your vendor, and if your budget allows it,
exchange it for a G73SW-3DE or a G74SX-DH73-3D.

It's depressing to see retailers/shops using half-truth advertisements just to lure customers into
buying products that are actually different from what they want.

My G53SX-IX132V does have 3D capability and comes with Nvidia glassses. It's not full HD though.

No, you got the regular one with standard 50-60hz screen and then you got the 3D feature with 120hz screen :) (also known as G74SX-A1 and G74SX-3DE)
