So I just received my G73SW-A1 back from an ASUS service center because my LCD came looking messed up. The service sheet says "Clean LCD" and I was just wondering what the native resolution should be?

I thought it should be 1920x1080 for 1080p but the maximum screen resolution I can select is 1600x900.

I have the most recent Nvidia 290.53 driver.

I checked under device manager for the hardware id of my monitor and it is an AUO139E.

I just googled a bit, and it confirmed that that particular panel is 1600x900, as you're seeing.

I was under the impression my model was supposed to come with a 1920x1080 though?

Did the service center switch out my LCD screen with a crappier one?

All the hits I see on G73SW-A1 native screen resolution is 1920x1080.
And as BrodyBoy said, the AUO139E screen is indeed 1600x900.

Does your laptop screen have 1920x1080 native screen resolution before you sent it to the service center?
If it was, then your screen has just been downgraded..

I didn't check but I believe so.

I checked and it's actually a G73SW-XA1, but those are still supposed to be native 1920x1080.

I just got my laptop back... I really don't wanna send it back in.

Why would they give me the wrong screen? Wtf?!

Because you sent it in for an LCD issue, they were likely replacing the panel and just mistakenly installed the wrong one. Contact Chastity, over on the NBR forum, explain the situation, and see if he can help expedite a repair of the repair.
