I have an Asus G1 laptop running Windows 7 x86 Ultimate and in the device manager under Other Devices it says Base System Device with a " ! " . I can't find the Driver for that on the Asus website cause they only have Vista Drivers. Does anyone know what that Base System Device missing drive be for ?

When I google "ASUS Base System Device Driver Missing", most of the hits indicate it is for the Ricoh Card Reader. Do you get any "Hardware Ids" value in the "Details" tab of Base System Device Properties in Device Manager?

This is what I get in the DETAILS tab for the BASE SYSTEM DEVICE properties. The Asus website doesn't have the RICOH Windows 7 drivers for the G1 laptop.

Added: Looks like I got it solved by installing this driver RICOH R5U8xx Media Driver ver.3.62.02. ITs a Windows 7 x86 and x64 driver . Thank you for your help.

Yes, that's your Ricoh card reader. Here's the latest Windows 7 Ricoh driver (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/Cardreader/CardReader_Ricoh_Win7_32_64_61016.zip) that Asus has posted. Can't guarantee that it'll work for your particular reader.
