I like SpeedFan. It also has a pretty neat online diagnostic summary for HDD's.

There is a program called SpeedFan as well as Everest (now called AIDA64 http://www.aida64.com/) Prob not what you were looking for but hope helps a little.

Speedfan is this old overclocker's favorite. It plots temperatures versus time for CPU cores, gpu, and other sensors (like the one right under the CPU socket on most boards) which is necessary for example when you're trying to reflow Indigo Xtreme metallic alloy material under the CPU.

speedfan says it can control fan speeds now, but when i click on to fan controllers, the add button is grayed out. any suggestions from those of you who have been using it? i've written them, but don't know if anyone is listening...

I currently use SpeedFan only for monitoring purposes. I'm thinking the creation of a new fan controller may not yet work (i.e. Add button grayed out) with ASUS laptop motherboards until the motherboard configuration form is sent to http://www.almico.com/sfhandleconfig.php

Sapphire Trixx allows you to control fans and the clocks. At least on my G73.
Hope this helps
