I'm waiting for mine to arrive and I intend to make a video review.

If you are not in a hurry you can wait for my feedback. There is also other reviews out there, the one that worries me the most, I think its somewhat picky about the SSD you put in, but I can't really validate that theory.

I saw some reviews speed testing the Arion with SN550 WD Blue, if it turns out to be true they look great.

Just finished first shootings and testing for the vid, the WD Blue SN 550 works great so far, it was (so far) easy peasy.

I will do a Davinci Resolve Bench on the vid, but here you go the "so far" testing speeds:

309-314 MB/s so that's translates to 2475-2515 mbps, a bit above the rated write speeds of the WD Blue, which is 2400mbps

I kind'a found the first flaw.

You can control the ARION RGB on the old AURA software individually but on Armoury Crate you can only change color when Sync'ed to the rest of the stuff. It won't appear on the devices tab as the mouse, keyboard and headset. So you can't control it individually.


If you desync it, it will go back to rainbow.

Reliability king is the Intel 905 P drives but right now 380GB is as big as they come in M.2. Other than that Samsung is it.

The M.2 screw has a little notch/slot/ something to hold on the M.2, the video is not that great showing it but when you start assembling, you'll see it ;)

I just noted today that with certain files the transfer rates went pretty much higher than what it is on the video, also, just make sure you plug it to a 10Gb USB A port or a USB C 3.2 for the fastest speed possible.

Its a joy to edit from this drive, better than a internal SATA SSD.
