Hey all, specs below just looking for a bit of advice on upgrading the ram in my rig
Maximus Hero VIII
i7 6700k (OC'd to 4.5Ghz)
16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance 3200
Gigabyte Windforce 980Ti
Samsung EVO 512GB SSD (For OS Drive)
Windows 10
I used a guide that came with the kit for oc'ing the rig to 4.5Ghz when I purchased it and its been running stable since. I'm planning to build a new machine later in the year to replace this, but for now Im looking to upgrade the ram to 32GB having seen a matching kit for £90
Will this cause any issues or will the board support it ok? I know it only runs dual channel but am I likely to see any peformance drops rather than increases? Its more about capacity at the moment, I work freelance as a 3D/2D artist and 16GB feels a bit low now for the apps I often have to have running.
Any advice greatly appreciated! -

It is not good practice to combine unmatched sets of memory, even if it's the same brand and model.
When it comes to system stability and peace of mine, always use matched sets.
