I understand that the 3006 is the BIOS for the newer cores of the 9900k while the 2000 series BIOS are apparently better for the older 7900ks like the one I have. (am I right there?)
SO what is the main difference between microcode 49 and 68?
My main concern isn't so much the SPECTRE malicious software. I'm looking for a BIOS/microcode combination that will best keep my Intel 900p SSDs to be preforming as quickly as possible. With all the BIOS updates, I am finding that these speedy SSDs the INtel 900p has lost about 25% of its speed, especially on the random 4k read/writes since the original 800 series BIOS and it is all due to the Spectre fixes.
I believe I gotta just accept the 25% loss so what is better then with the microcode, the 49 or 68?
