Yep! There are many key features hidden behind microcode revision from Intel and AMD camp.
Security patch was one of many features in microcode update.

It can be wide variety use for

1. Enable or Disable some functions on processor if it bring harmful behavior of CPU itself.
2. Correct latency issue internal CPU and Interconnect.
3. Fixing some erratum that cause instability.
4. Handle some execute function that cause failure.
5. Fixing issue CPU adaptive voltage issue if CPU support.
6. Allow tweaking cache latency
7. Improve communication between CPU and PCH signal if need.
8. Bring new feature that CPU support beyond release such as " RE-BAR " for X299 PCH.

That was major keys about CPU microcode update.

There are other secret function like " Sending back error report back by binary file to manufacture ".

Intel or AMD utilized those binary files to keep tracking issues from users.
They'll bring binary files to their engineer teams to solving issues.

After fixed and finalized they'll release new microcode revision for us all. :cool:

Have you noticed improvement in cold boot bug issues with the use of these bios modded?

do you have any for R6EE for use with Cascade Lake X?

I say new cpu microcode or oldest dosent matter on rebar is feauture on bios not on microcode so already i have enabled with oldest cpu microcode and newest one

Due I don't have both Cascade Lake X SKUs and R6EE on my hand. I can't testing to make sure the modified BIOS running good or had some bugs.

I see thanks . How much performance gain on your system when enable/disable RE-BAR feature ?
I'd plan to upgrade to 4090Ti next Chinese new year 2023. Now I consider between 3000 Series and 4000 Series.

Hi, I am not a native english speaking person. Sorry :D. I own an Apex with 7980XE, 64 GB, 1080 Ti. CPU, Board and VGA are watercooled with a big external radiator.

Seasonic TX 1000 PLatinum PSU

2x M.2 SSD and some other drives connected. No Raid.

I want to create two OC-Profiles. One with the best 8 Cores active and one with all cores active.

Of course I want the best basis for this

Bios currently is 3501. Original File. I have no clue about Microcodes, SKU(?) and whatsoever.

What is your advice for optimizing my bios for my overclcking approach? OS is Win10 currently.

Future upgrade to 3090/40X0 VGA + WIN11 is planned, but I want to keep my MB and CPU.
