Thanks for your support. Especially a comment to the Bios Version (modded?) that is recommended to be used, would be welcome as well.
I own a 7980XE -

@Neogate
Yes. 7940X also welcome to the party.
50654 CPU ID mean 7800X 7820X 7900X 7920X 7940X 7960X and 7980XE.
Due limit of BIOS space and avoid cold boot bugs issue.
The modified BIOS only contained 02006E05 microcode for better running experience. -

Hello anybody and Hello restsugavan
I take everyone reading this is still loyal to x299 so far which is good to know altough I cant deny that we are the top anymore, the lack of PCIe lanes 4.0, DDRR5 ram BUT AND A GOOD BUT, WE HAVE PLENTY OF PCIE to play with which is something awseome.
Anyway, I was wondering if you could mod for users using cascade lake x, I switch from my 7900x to the 10940x ans the 18 core version whas beyond me.
Once switched to the 10940x I could really tell not only the extra speed in cores but rather the stabiity with OC, currently mine at 4.8Ghz OC all cores on an aio 240mm push pull, I can reach however 4.9 but it's to damm heat for my taste and i reckon that my aio wont like it.
Thanks for your time reading this.
Cheers from Desertum_o -

Are there some more details available, what better running experience stands for? I am testing my 7980XE with 8, 10 and 12 active cores and find that 4.8/4.7 GHz allcore is working fine but with 12 Cores 4,7 and Mesh 3,2 Ghz I am finding a limit for both frequencies. Watercooled.

Attachment 95987
Better running experience mean all 18 Core active running quite good. Protect against new SA-XXXXX issues.
And running great with lastest Windows 11 Insider Preview Developer Build without issues. -
10-31-2022, 05:22 AMrestsugavanBoth AMD 79XX and NVIDIA RTX 40XX working good with X299
Hi @Desetum_0
Nice to meet you here mate. Don't worry about PCI-E 3.0 x 16 bandwidth limit speed. Both AMD RDNA3 RX 7XXX Series and NVIDIA RTX 40XX Series
were testing before release with our X299 motherboard. They're working very well with native re-sizing bar feature by day one.
Enjoying true experience of new generation GPU on our platform during waiting for Sapphire Rapid/Emerald Rapid LGA 4677. -

Yeah, true, I have seen many testings about this topic, there is almost no or in fact there is no difference between PCIe3.0x16 and PCIe4.0x16 GPU performance.
As long as there is no new Intel HEDT platform, and x299 support with BIOS updates and mods here in this forum keeps straight ahead in a superb manner, there is absoluely no reason to change for me. I am still very happy with my R6A.
Sometime ago I did a 3601 mod for my Apex with UBU and provided it here in forum as public download. I want to do a new 3701 bios mod for my Apex with updated UEFI drivers and option roms, but I am stucked. I couldnĂƒâ€šĂ‚Â´t find a location where to downlad oprom/ driver files for SATA/ Vroc RAID and LAN. Yeah, I know winraid, stationdrivers, I could extract them from an existing modded bios, but that would be a lot of time consuming work, not the mod itself, problem is searching and finding the uefi files + roms. So please I am asking you for help, wouldnĂƒâ€šĂ‚Â´t it be much easier to provide a single download location with a kind of up to date rom and driver package for x299 platform or an updated rampage vi bios to extract from? Thanks a lot in advance.
Edit: actually I already did a Apex 3701 bios mod, but use at your own risk, I do not know for sure if roms and uefi driver have latest version
