@tistou77
I need your help, for performance reasons I also wish to stay on the older microcode for Cascade Lake-X 05000029. Because on the Rampage 6 Encore 0401 performance is great but on all the latest bios like 0603 performance really drops. I tried to mod it myself with MMTool, but I guess I don't have the skills. It won't let me update with bios flashback on the back of the mobo.
Therefor I would like to request the new 0603 Bios version from Rampage 6 Extreme Encore but the old microcode 05000029 found in 0401 for Cascade Lake-X. I don't care about anything else :D -

USB Flashback method is preferred.
Also the microcodes you posted are all for Skylake-X CPUs. Since you have Cascadelake-X, i think the latest microcode is F01. BIOSes on the first page contains F00. I don't have CL-X CPU, so I am not sure which is the best for your MB and CPU. -

:( so i cant use any modded bios.....? this latest bios sucks for overclock and is really slow on the menus when using per core functions.
I was reading alot of the pages on this topic, and concluded that there is ppl using 10980xe whit modded bios, any help please
Also on the first topic its confusing, cant get it, the bios is for cascade lake or skylake ?

Obviously both Skylake-x and Cascade Lake-x can be used in a x299 motherboard, like the Encore, that's why the bios's include both microcodes for SKX and CLX. Summing up, u can install from a 7980xe to a 10980xe, 9980xe in the middle. 7980xe and 9980xe are Skylake-X's, while 10980xe is a Cascade Lake-X CPU.
Latest microcode for SKX is 6906, and F01 for CLX.
With the latest Windows Update, version 2004, I would choose the latest microcodes, previous ones don't make sense. The OS is optimized to adress vulnerabilities at the same time performance is maintained as much as possible.
Currently using 6906 (7980xe) in my Omega 3006, with the latest firmwares, and quite happy with it in Win10 2004. -

You got the answer for the microcodes ;)
For Cascade Lake-X, someone said they had better performance with the Encore's 04xx bios (old microcode) than the last bios
I thought Intel had made efforts for performance (Patch Spectre)
I even thought that CL-X would not be "affected" by these problem -

thanks all for the replys iam comming from a Aorus motherboard.....
sorry but its very confusing:
Latest microcode for SKX is 6906, and F01 for CLX. - cant get this , ppl pages behind say F00 is for SKX and F01 is fo CKX no you are saying that for SKX is 6906, some ppl say 29 other 49 other 69 e get thats the last number, also i get this 05000029 is from the bios 40* sorry all for the noob questions
Also iam using windows 10 2004,
does this bios better ?
its on the version you said is better for win version 2004

@TsportM
Every system is different, so the same bios can work worse or better depending on the mounted components, for example memory modules which usually are a problematic part.
In my system, Omega's 3006 with the latest microcode 6906 for my 7980xe is doing a good job. In general, 3006 is a quite stable bios specially for memory overclocking.
I also said that right now under Win10 2004 is not worth to have an old microcode, since they are not as refined as new ones and operating system will barely perform better by disabling patches. Besides if u use an older microcode than the present in your Win10, that will be overrided in favour of this one, unless u patch your system. -

He didn't do the updates yet. They are still old.
Does anyone having issue with 3006 Bios on Task Manager showing CPU speed fixed like 3.1 Ghz even though it is idling? Mine is always fixed to my base clock 3.1 Ghz.
This doesn't happen with Bios 2002. -

Hello Master @ tistou77
Could you make a Modded bios for the Rampage VI Extreme motherboard with Microcode 02006906?
Thank you -

[QUOTE=GTi-6;806368]He didn't do the updates yet. They are still old.
Thanks man.
It's hard enough to keep up with all these microcodes but since they are not updated yet no worries.
Thanks to Tistou for modding any further bios. -

Guys,
I need some help.
Between the 7960x and the new 10940x which will you choose?
No way I will be buying a 7980xe and the 10980XE cant not be found.
PS: All my search indicate that the cascade lake x is a bit better than 10940x

Thanks tistou77 for the new BIOS.
What are your settings for Intel Enhanced SpeedStep and SpeedShift settings in the BIOS? Enabled or disabled? -

@tistou77
R6EO(3006BIOS)+ 9980XE, memory and CPU performance will decline. As far as I know, 3006BIOS will have an impact on 9th Gen CPU, but not on 7th Gen CPU. the BIOS 3006(the official default microcode 60), Modded microcode 49 and 69 have all been tried, with the same performance degradation,do you know why ? -
06-06-2020, 11:02 AMvmanuelgm
@Corna
The performance decrease is due to several patches in order to fix Intel security vulnerabilities, both in new microcodes and operating systems. In regards to pure CPU calculation, with a 4700 OC and a 7980xe Cinebench R15 scored around 4700, and now scores around 4500-4600. Memory bandwidth also decreased a bit and latencies increased also a bit.
U can mod your bios (or use one modded by other users) with several microcodes, but have in mind that the microcodes have to interact with the OS. I guess u are using Win10 1909 at least, or the new version 2004. They are coded to patch Intel vulnerabilities so the new microcodes, such as 6901 or 6906 (for Skylake-x cpu's) are the way to go. Remember that Win10 will override old microcodes previous to 5E version (at least), so u need to patch your Win10 to avoid that behaviour. U'd also have to disable mitigations via Regedit and use old and buggy microcode versions like 49 (avx512 bug for example).
I too have the Omega and Bios 3006 is more stable than previous Bios's when we talk about memory overclock, even with an old 7980xe. I use manual OC so can't say anything about automatic XMP. If u find u have worse performance, u can upload pics of your current overclock to see the values your Omega is applying. Make a new thread if u wish. -

For information, the "microcode" under Windows (2004) has not been updated since April 2019
It's still the 5E for Skylake-X -

There were not only Intel CPU vulnerable issue here, AMD and ARM also. Out team trying to sweep all
however those hackers won't allow us to relaxing. Microsoft and all vender knowing these issues.
Not only Windows OS other open platform such as Linux Apple Google NVIDIA AMD also update
their microcode , firmware , drivers and all tools that will prevent hackers getting your data .
Performance of official build such as May 2020 update didn't represent your system best performance.
We're continuing discover what is the best for you all.

Number of build number of Insider build show what we did.:cool:
There are many microarchitect for this year, Sunny Cove , Willow Cove , Tremont and the first hybrid Lakefields.
Those from only Intel side, What about other camp. :o -
