yes this is the exact problem of all here... no problem if the laptop is above 50-60%, but if you let laptop at about 30-50% left when you shutdown then at the start there's this risk of going to 0%. Actually i really don't know what's happening here, but this is just crazy... waiting news from Marioos that sended again laptop on rma

i know man...they replaced my battery free on january (2 months before the 1 year cover for battery) but as you and others didn't solve anything.
As you my use is pretty desktop based, so i use little the battery, and for that is not a big problem for me, just i'll be sure to charge at 100% before i'll go out of home... the good thing is that barely it goes crazy if you have charged to 100% even if you use it from 100 to 30% in 1 hours gaming on it on battery, it will restart without problems.
The problem triggers only if you let it under 40-60% for all the night or many many hours and then starts or reboot your pc.
I'm still thinking that something off even with software but i'm not a technician... -
05-09-2020, 09:42 PMenriquecs2005Same baterry problem!
From my point of view it is a big problem, especially how much this laptop costs. I spoke to the Asus center and they told me to send the laptop to see if it was the battery or the motherboard. But all services started with changing the battery (and my case is over 1 year old and the battery must be paid). And after you see that it's not the battery, it's money wasted ... I have a 17% wear level on the battery. I tried the following test: on the battery the performance setting should be lower. I'm still in tests, so far he hasn't done it (1 start at 59%). Does the new replaced battery have a warranty? We are waiting to see what the Marioss did.

i understand that is not a big problem because you can charge 100% and it is ok ... but the big problem is thea after 1 year and 3 month i have lost 68 % of the life of the battery and now after only 1 month i lost the 6 % of the life of the new battery...
if the problem didn't destroy the battery in such a short time it wouldn't have been a big deal. But in this case it is not admissible. -

So my problem solved, the 2nd time i sent it, 1st time the just replaced the battery, didnt worked, 2nd time they instaled a new bios version the 312 one. Of corse ive searched before i sent it for new bios on the ASUS website with drivers, and the last one that i saw there was that one i have instaled already, the latest one the 311, so they istaled me a version that is not even online for us, thats extremly funny but anyway. Now the laptop (i think) is working, i didnt test it in extreme % like below 10% bot in 19% it did work. Asus Power. My next product is going to be Asus, not

post here EVER, as everyone that have done some try could have the answer without knowing...
...i will wait for a new bios, but if marios can share the 312 for 504gw is a good thing for the owners of this laptop.
I have the 704gw so i can't install the eventual new bios that asus have installed on Marioos laptop. -

Dear all,
for those who have send your device to service center but did not fix the problem,
please PM me your SN and RMA number.
I will confirm that BIOS 312 issue as well.
Really sorry for all the inconvenience caused.
Thank you. -

it definitely seems to be something going on Windows the causes the battery to deplete to zero since I tried to boot to BIOS and the battery percentage remains the same, the moment I boot to Windows the battery led starts blinking and the laptop shut down.
Can you please confirm if the issue happened again after formatting your PC? -

05-16-2020, 12:15 PMdan_himuraFaulty batteries
Hi all,
@thafunker, @gieffe22, @Marioss, (thafunker and TX2000 already seen this) one year ago I have opened this thread regarding this problem in here .
As you can see from post #15 the issue was still present even after just 1 month the first RMA, so they changed my faulty battery with another faulty battery and in the second RMA nothing was done by asus support (portugal). You can see all the battery reports later after that post.
So from my point of view all batteries I was given were faulty and when laptop is plugged in with 100% I think there is no function that interrupts the course of electricity through the battery, because before my first RMA when I was playing the battery was dropping even if plugged in, and this is the biggest fault in a laptop in my opinion.
Blake reached out to me too and I would like to keep this current thread as the official one. -

before sensing on RMA i tried removing myasus, armoury and all other asus stuff just to exlude that was a sw problem that was causing the problem, and of course doesn't solve anything, but as you said maybe it's different starting windows from scratches and not install none of the above. Honestly i don't have time to spend on it because i use the laptop to work but if someone have the time should be a starting point try this one too.

I got GL504GW last year and have been facing the same problem when I shutdown at around 45 % or lower and then switch on the next day. I calibrated the battery a few times and thought it will be okay, then it happened again one fine day. Frustrated, I've made a habit to make sure that my battery level is around 60% when I shutdown and its not happening at this level., But I will definitely appreciate if somebody confirm that they have been able to resolve this by frequent calibration of battery.

Don't get your hopes up, Asus usually stops providing updates for their laptops after 1 year. I also came to know that Asus direct support was closed in my country and I will have to go through 3rd-party support only. Buying another Asus laptop again will most probably never happen again.

it would be good to know from Marioss if the problem was really solved with the update to the bios version 312.

05-20-2020, 06:59 AMenriquecs2005Same baterry problem!
The problem manifested itself and, from what I noticed if I start the laptop in bios directly, the problem does not appear. On the battery, the laptop automatically switches to 60hz and then the problem manifests itself (21%,39% baterry charge). Marioss, is it so hard to answer?

So... guy's, Blake finally contacted me again, saing to send laptop on the HQ center to analize and "experiment" to find the problem. I just denied it because can't remain AGAIN (for the 3 time in 1 year) without my working laptop; so, i still hope in a bios fix... maybe if someone send the pc to these guys let us know...

Maybe Blake can tell as if the new version of bios 312resolve the problem. Marioss didn't feedback... Come on Asus don't disappoint us... I'm really an Asus fan but if this problem isn't solved.. I'll choose another brand! It īs unqualified to send The laptop to the service and they make you pay for a new battery (destroyed by Asus Power management fault) and the problem didn't solved...

Hello Sergio8903,
Thank you for providing the information.
When did you send the device to service? I really hope I can catch it and solve your issue. -

05-26-2020, 04:41 PMmbushnaq00
To be frank, it's ridiculous that Asus is requesting you to send your own laptop for testing. They are the vendor! they are supposed to have test laptops and diagnostics tools to replicate the issue. I used to work for a multinational company that is a competitor to Asus, we would never ask a customer to send their laptop for "testing" purposes. We collect logs related to the issue, in this case, battery and power management, do the proper diagnosis, verify the root cause of the problem, and either come up with a patch or an action plan to resolve the issue. What Asus is doing is just lousy support which is unacceptable for a laptop that costs $2500!

Hello, the notebook is still at the service of Milan now from 1 week.

Hello guys,
The laptop arrived yesterday and I'm trying to see if the problem is solved.
From asus they change the mother board and but I think for other problem the fans anche the keyboard.
The bios version is the 311.
The laptop arrived with 52% of battery, i discharge to 35% and I turn off. After more then 6 hours, I turn on and was all ok 34% no problems. So I decide to discharge to the 29% and turn off and after 1 night today in the morning I turn on and all was OK 28%.
So for the moment the problem is solved, I will try to do more tests in this days. -

Hey Sergio, any update? Hope the problem is resolved for you.
If so, can you please check in your power settings if the fast startup is enabled or disabled..
Also same for wake timers in advanced power settings
Thanks
