My opinion of 9238:
I finally got around to testing it.
"A" Plus driver, a new favorite, at least for Windows 11(for which starting with the 9200 series WHQL certified for)
Crystal clear crisp highs and mids, powerful punch and thump on pass, just plain awesome and this driver is going on my must have OneDrive Excel list. -

The same fix above can be done with Realtek's audio drivers (from this thread) as well, and is seemingly required with true 4.0 speaker setups (front L/R, rear L/R, no sub). For Realtek, you'd select 5.1 Speaker Config, and remove (disable) the optional Center speaker. I know this affected FFXIV as well, and likely affects other games too.
To test this consistently in D2R, I went to the main menu and started the Act 1 cinematic. You should hear environmental things from the rear speakers, but no dialogue. All dialogue only comes from the front speakers (if you hear any voice from the rear speakers, you're likely upmixing Stereo). -

I have 2 pairz of sub/Sats for front/rear speakers so same 4.0 setup. I use Quadrophic option in Realtek control panel and get directional sound from rear speakers. What does setting up as a 5.1 with no nlcenter or sub do for you that Quadraphonic doesn't? I treod this setup briefly but found it less appealing. If I recall I got far less rear output for many games.
