Asus crosshair hero VII sound not working - Windows 10
Hi, I recently updated my bios to latest since then i'm not able to successfully hear audio from my motherboard both on linux and windows 10.
In windows 10, I installed latest audio drivers that was displayed on asus website where i downloaded the bios from but still it's not working.

Luckily i found this forum and looking through previous comments. I have a sense that I could fix my audio after 3 weeks
Can anybody please please guide me in the right direction?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3 MB) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

However, if you notice the issue since updating your BIOS, and that you have the issue with Windows & Linux, it is not a cleanup/update of your Windows audio drivers that will fix your issue since you have the issue with Windows & Linux. It seems that your audio controller no longer seems to want to start since updating your BIOS, so, follow this :

    - Check that the audio controller is enabled in your BIOS.
    - Hard reboot your PC : Turn off your PC > Turn off your PSU for 15 sec > Turn on your PSU > Turn on your PC.
    - If you still have the issue, contact ASUS Support : https://www.asus.com/support/CallUs (and/or open a thread here : ROG Care - Hardware & Software Support).

HD Audio controller is enabled in the bios.
Tried hard reboot and followed your instructions to installing audio drivers but still no sound.
I have all this drivers installed after following your guide, Attachment 93718

When i connect my headphones into the line out port, It asks if I had inserted headphones or front speakers. I select headphones and hear click noise from headphones that's if after that no audio.

Why the Drivers from the forum don't install the DTS Components?

    Thx.

I think my question was going to be pretty much what you just asked. Previously on my ASUS Rog Crosshair VIIII Formula board using Mokichu drivers I always had DTS connect and iirc DTS Live options in Realtek Console digital out panel. Now its just setting to change sample rate.

Since the 6.0.9251.1 WHQL drivers, there has been a major change made by Realtek regarding the drivers package type dedicated to your motherboard, which fact that DTS APO4x Core Sofware Component & DTS APO4x Service Sofware Component are no longer used by the new drivers package type architecture.

    Hi,

    This it never was.

Ok, but why in the page of the MB it clearlsaysay s isupportsrt DTS:

    Attachment 93806

I was testing with and without it and it makes a lot of difference in the power of the sound.

You have some link to download last versions of DTS Components?

It fixes the issue with Sonic Studio 3 closing by itself after some seconds?

    My problem is:

When i open SS3, makes the NAHIMIC service to close by itself and ofc. SS3 close too, because it needs that service to be running to work.

And yes, i did the installation of the audio drivers following the instructions here:

(Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS MB)

The only way i could make this pieace of **** Soft works is:

Doing a .BAT to start manually and fast the NAHIMIC service and then start SS3.

It maybe takes 3 attempts or maybe a lot more, till it keep open without close.

But it's really stupid thing, need to be doing things like this to make it works like should...

This is random bug in Sonic studio 3 (crash on advanced mode tab open. Also it crush nahimic service) Try to quick selecting basic mode
(It happens to me, too, and sometimes you have to try 10+ times.)

    This is terrible buggy software

    You launch fix with admin?
Also you should install realtek audio console (uwp version from MS store)

And yes. Try this driver for test:

(ss3, console, dts included, official signed)

One crash I can 100% reproduce every time:
    1. Switch Sonic Studio App to Advanced Mode and close
    2. Change default Audio Device to Headphone (through windows control panel) and enable DTS on it. Don't change the default audio device.
    3. Start Sonic Studio and it will crash.
Note: I also have Sonic Studio enabled on my TV/Monitor.
However, when I change my default audio device to something else which hasn't DTS enabled and then start Sonic Studio, it doesn't crash.

The Service timeout/crash hasn't happend for me for a while.

5.1 audio not working desktop, test speakers does in games
    Hey Guys,

So I have chased my tail on this and figured all of you are in the know would know what I am missing here.

    Asus Z690 Hero win 11.

I have went to the MMSYS.CPL and checked all the settings, I have it at 5.1 and when I test I get left and right only.. I don't have the enhanced tab in my properties as some suggest changes there.. when I run a game I do get all 5 speakers working with sound, but can't get the test to run them correctly. I have not tried music yet, I will move a song to this rig tomorrow and try that also.. Not sure what is hosed up here. I just built this system last week, so windows is fresh and all drivers ran from Armory Crate installed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello all,

I want to share my experience troubleshooting a problem with the Nahimic service and see if anyone had encountered the same thing.

    First of all my specs:

    ASUS Maximus XI Hero WiFi
    Windows 11 Pro x64 build 22621.232 22H2

I followed the guide to clean install the driver (even used DDU in safe mode to be sure everything was cleaned fine), I installed version 6.0.9360.1 SS3 without any issue, every component was recognized so nothing to complain. Rebooted the system and checked the audio, all ok! Even Realtek Audio Console self installed.

I continued to use my computer as usual, but I noticed when using WinRAR or Google Chrome/Opera GX, even Windows Task Manager, these applications were slow in opening, so after some testing etc. I found out NahimicService.exe was the culprit. I let the video speak by itself:

    https://streamable.com/kntpe1

Obviously i updated to the latest version (6.0.9374.1) posted yesterday and nothing has changed, so my question is if anyone has having the same behaviour or not, maybe it's the unsupported Windows 11 version that cause the issue, who knows....

PS: Sonic Studio 3 is a garbage software, crashing in advanced mode everytime.

    Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3) from the first post of this thread.

    - Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process
    - Use this SS3 Cleaner tool (Right click on "A-Volute_SS3_Cleanup.exe" > Run as administrator) then restart your PC
    - Follow scrupulously your INSTALL process

For the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.
