Thank you for the updated Drivers

Question - why is it that these drivers are not on the Asus MB page where the drivers should reside?
Is there a reason Asus does not update them there?

After following the instructions to a T, and uninstalling the packages and rebooting, checking the drivers with Driver Store Explorer (not finding any listed ones), and then running the cmd as Admin, it installed and restarted as it should. It didnt install the items out of the Windows Store though for some reason after the reboot (waited 15 minutes), so I did that manually. Looking in Device Manager, under Audio Inputs and Outputs, there is the "Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)", and it is a Microsoft Driver, version 10.0.19041.1

    Is that right?
I would have thought this should have listed a Realtek driver....

Under Software Components, there are various A-Volute, DTS and Realtek listings in there, and looking at Driver Store Explorer again, there are Realtek, DTS, A-Volute, Nahimic listings now, which there werent before. But why is the audio driver listing at Microsoft?

I tried an update Driver from Device Manager, and got it to look in the folder I extracted this new driver into, but it said it was already using the latest.

I assume it should not be Microsoft and should be Realtek, right?

    EDIT:
Or maybe not... this is just the endpoint...

Under Sound, Video and Game Controllers in Device manager, it does list Realtek(R) Audio, and is 6.0.9209.1

    So likely is OK..

9215 sounds the same as 9209. First time I have heard no change:cool:

One of the videos I use for checking as the bass has subs, thump, punch, and great mids and high hats:

Are you absolutely sure you have only UAD drivers installed?

I once have a somewhat similar problem and found out I still had a HDA leftover, so I refollowed MoKiChUs clean install steps and added 2 more:
    3. Run the following in an admin cmd prompt(copy & paste):

    fsutil resource setautoreset true c: \&fsutil usn deletejournal /d /n c:&Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /
    StartComponentCleanup&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&Dism.exe /
    Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase&pause

    7. Then open Regedit to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
and delete the keys to Realtek Audio
    (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Realtek\Audio
At this point it's good to run the registry cleaner in Ccleaner too
    8. Reboot your system

Better yet here is a link to a SWAY I created about the clean up process and a list of the best UAD drivers:

Yes I linked you the solution that someone else had used to solve his issue, but I deleted my post because the solution is too brutal from a security point of view, so please rollback the Launching applications and unsafe files (not secure) setting from Enabled to Prompt, delete the downloaded Realtek Audio drivers package then follow this process to fix more finely your issue (which could be useful to other people and not only for the drivers packages that I offer) :

    - Right-click Windows Start button then click Launch then type gpedit.msc > OK
    - User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Attachment Manager
    - Do not preserve zone information in file attachment : Enabled > OK

Once done, restart your PC then re-download/extract the Realtek Audio drivers package for your motherboard type & re-follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

I found even less brutal solution than both internet options and gpedit: click unblock and apply before unzipping the whole driver works for me

Yep, unblocking any compressed folder (same true with rar for instance) will unblock all of the files it contains.

    @Mokichu

There must be a better solution, these are temp workarounds anyways...

It would be better if we knew what is causing the issue. I used to download your realtek drivers and not need to do anything but "Install"

I wonder if your issues are local to your setup as I just download the drivers and click on install without any issues.

Thanks again for the update @MoKichU.

    After testing:
I don't know, 9219 just sounds a little off to me(when compared to HDMI), a tad heavy on bass, and the mids are a bit too strong.
9209 and 9215 just sound better.

They never say, sometimes the OEMs like Dell and HP post the changelog, but the updates are usually just security, new hardhardware support for CODECs, DACs, Op-Amps and so on, adjustments to gain, and filters can also be done too.

Realtek chips are system on a chip actually(SoC), here you can get a bit of information about them and maybe understand why updates are needed:

    Which motherboard
    Hi,
The regular question I am afraid. I am trying to get four speakers working.

MB Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero AMD X570. It says SupremeFX S1220 CODEC on the box sticker. And at the box bottom: SupremeFX S1220 CODEC, ESS ES9023P High Definition DAC.

Do I follow the "Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS MB)" track?

    All the best

    Hi,
I just finished the cleaning and installing. I haven't tested it yet, because I got a Windows Defender warning about PUA:Win32/CandyOpen. Potentionally unwanted app. Is this from the running of the driver installer?

    question
I have Asus Rog strix gaming E x570.
I have a couple of questions.

    1. what is sonic studio virtual mixer driver? does not seem to have anything to do with Sonic studio 3. What does it do? I should keep it disabled?

    2. What is the realtek usb audio drivers. Do I need it? I have already installed/ updated my drivers by following the instruction from regular realtek audio drivers thread.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi again,

I think I managed to do all the steps.

I open the Realtek Audio Console, select quadrophonic, tests the setup and all speakers work playing the test sound. But when I try to play music or anything, only the first speaker pair (green connector) plays - not the black connector.

This is driving me insane! Could there be some rerouting going on that I am not aware of?

Ok, it's me being an ignorant. I supposed what I could connect two pairs or speakers to blue and some other color connector and make them output one source of sound (like it did with my old MB). Now I connected the second pair of speakers to the front blue connector and it works. Yay!

I just need to figure out why neither Skype or Google Meet accepts my microphone. Google Meet actually crashes. Skype isn't receiving any sound. I have tried both a headset to pink and a camera cam Rode mic to pink, and in Windows Sound settings the sound input shows and is registered. Tested with Microsoft Sound Recorder (simple app) and it receives input and plays back. But not Google Meet and Skype.

Thanks for all the help. I will have to keep digging in the mic problem.

Hello, I have a new B550-F (WiFi) paired with a 5600X. The issue I have is that sometime the audio pops or cracks, especially with Windows sound. This is very noticeable when using Windows's slider to adjust volume when the classic sound is playing.
Video of the issue found on the internet:
    https://streamable.com/tdvg47
    https://streamable.com/iozb2i

I tried installing these drivers by following the instructions to no avail. MSI mode is enabled. The issue is still there.
I installed this version -> Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME RTK MB) since the official driver provided only comes with Realtked Audio Console.
    Thank you for your help.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Once it's done, regarding your popping/crackling issue, follow these 2 TIPS (also visible at the bottom of the first post) :

    1) Disable hibernation :

    - Right-click Windows Start button then click Search.
    - Search for cmd. In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt and then click Run as administrator.
    - If/When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
    - At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate off and then press Enter then close the Command Prompt

    2) Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_util_v3.exe" > Run as administrator), then Apply, then close MSI Mode Utility & restart your PC.

Also, update your BIOS to the last (https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/ro.../helpdesk_bios) then update your others drivers to the last :

You need these others drivers for your ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi motherboard :

    [DRIVERS] AMD Chipset/SATA (3xx/4xx/5xx/TRX40)

    - AMD Chipset Drivers

    [DRIVERS] Intel Ethernet/WiFi/Bluetooth

    - Intel Ethernet Drivers (Drivers Only) :
    Drivers - I22x-V (2.5GbE)

    - Intel WiFi Drivers (Drivers Only) :
    Drivers - 9xxx/AX2xx

    - Intel Bluetooth Drivers (Drivers Only) :
    Drivers - 9xxx/AX2xx

Thanks for your reply. I tried again by scrupulously following your instructions. I also enabled MSI and disabled hibernation to no avail. I tested the same thing shown in the two video I posted with my two laptops and both of them have the exact same issue.
I also asked a couple of friends with different configurations (Intel 9th gen, Ryzen 1st and 2nd gen) and they all the same very same issue.
Thanks again for your reply and your work.
