    Hi,

Yes, of course, Windows 10 & Windows 11.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3 MB) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

    Hi,

You have an ASUS PRIME DTS Headphone:X v1 motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS HPXv1 MB) from the first post of this thread.

So uninstall SS3 apps, you will see EQ in Realtek Audio Control.

I don't have any DTS or SS3 apps installed with my B550-F but I still can't see the equalizer in Realtek Audio Console with the newer drivers. I used to disable the DTS service before to get the equalizer to show up but the newer drivers don't install that service so it can't be disabled. I also don't recall ever having the equalizer show up for SPDIF in the Audio Console during the year of owning this motherboard with many different drivers.

Hey, thanks for your time to answer!

I always do this before installing a new driver version.
Manually uninstall everything -> run Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to remove the Realtek driver -> run Driver Store Explorer to force delete any leftovers -> run SS3 Cleaner -> install new driver without installing DTS or SS3 apps.

However it makes no difference, there's still no equalizer for speakers nor SPDIF. Also the DTS service doesn't get installed since the SS3-DTS driver package got updated earlier this month, I used to disable this service before to get equalizer to show up in Realtek Audio Console for speakers.

First of all, thanks MoKiChU for the hard work, much appreciated.

Now, same issue on my end too (same mobo using drivers UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS), no eq for SPDIF with drivers after 9250.1, after that drivers changed whatever and even after a clean windows reinstall the equalizer won`t show up unless I install 9250.1. I tried everything, clean up process, ddu, even clean windows install, maybe windows is installing some older drivers after restart and that is messing with these new drivers. For the time being I`m staying on 9250.1.

It freakin` works, the EQ appears now in Realtek Audio Console for SPDIF with the 9264.1 Gen 1 driver.

For those that want or need the EQ for SPDIF in Realtek Audio Console use the Gen 1 driver, but before installing from 9250.1 or older follow exactly the CLEAN UP process, and I can`t stress that enough.

Thanks a lot MoKiChU, you are the man.

    Take care, stay safe.

Thanks alot for your hard work!
I installed the new SS3-DTS Gen1 driver and the equalizer now works on SPDIF. Also the DTS service gets installed like before which blocks the equalizer from showing up on Speakers:
    Attachment 90737

The workaround I use is disabling the DtsApo4Service from services.msc or killing DtsApo4Service.exe from Task Manager. This brings the equalizer correctly to Speakers:
    Attachment 90738

You might need to re-enable the service if you want to use DTS Sound Unbound.

Ok @MokiChU I just got finished comparing and when I turn on SS3 both with Realtek and HDMI there is now no more clipping,
The only difference is HDMI has a much wider soundstage if dolby is turned on.

I only use HDMI for watching movie/anime and for audiphile & vinyl music uploaded on YouTube(stuff that play long), and prefer to use Realtek for everything else, because there is always a slight delay when starting content to when the soundbar kicks in(but is in sync with video though).

    Hi Guys,

I guess I'm really confused about which drivers I'm supposed to use for my "ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Hero Wifi" with an Intel I9-11900K.

In the Device Manager, I am showing that the audio driver is a Realtek USB2.0 Audio...according to Microsoft Drivers. These are working ok, No popping at start up, when using Windows 10 Pro (20H1, 20H2, 21H1 or 21H2)

    Attachment 90772

But as soon as I install these ASUS ROG SS3, of any version, the speakers immediately start to pop, twice then pause then one more pop.

I have tried every 6.3.69xx version, and it does this. One of the thing I noticed is when you install one of these drivers, the device manager show that it becomes a "Realtek USB Audio" 6.3.96xx.xx. and not a "Realtek USB2.0 Audio"

I can revert back to the Microsoft Version, and all is good again. Am I using the right drivers for the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Hero WIFI??

I have done clean installs of Windows 10 Pro each time and same results. Is there a Realtec USB2.0 Audio version...??

Hi MoKiChU, just wanted to confirm the correct driver package for my motherboard, as I'm a bit confused by the new dichotomy (Gen1/Gen2) on the ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound drivers. Based on what I've been able to determine, it looks the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero W-Fi utilizes the SupremeFX S1220 audio codec (a rebadged Realtek ALC1220). That leads me to believe Gen1 is the correct driver download for this, but I would appreciate it if you could confirm.

Also, it seems there was a major change in these drivers that requires a full cleanup and re-install, correct? Thanks much!

Note: AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3-DTS_MB_v6.0.9254.1.zip is the last version that I installed, fwiw.

    Hi Mokichu,

When you enter any game, the amplify level section disappears and the sound is reduced by half when opening the game. I did a clean install and tried previous audio versions, same result. The same process works fine in windows 10, but it creates problems in windows 11.

    Before game:
    Attachment 90793

    when opening the game :

    Attachment 90794

In the advanced settings section, when you select the headphone in the rear panel section as the front speaker output and select the headphone again, the problem is fixed, but the sound in the games sounds very bad. In FPS games, it is not clear where the gun sound comes from. When you install the 6.0.9088.1 version published on Asus site, the sound does not turn down, but ss3 does not work. All works fine on Windows 10.

Motherboard X570-F Gaming. Current stable versions of all drivers are installed. All updates of Windows 11 are installed.
Can you help with this issue?

By looking at that square with an "S" in it under the "Ses Efekti" on your screnshots I can safely pressume you have the Sonic Studio app installed.
In the past I also installed all those "Radar" and "Studio" apps although I didn't need them. As far as I remember you can configure them for every specific app including games. I mean, may be that Sonic app is what causes your problem, it notices you running a game and it may change your sound configuration for that game.
I suggest you uninstall (remove) the Sonic Studio app and check if it helped, you can always reinstall it from https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9n81c41dq5sj

6.0.9268.1 WHQL sound really close to HDMI with both SS§ turned off and on.
With SS3 on and upmix/surround selected(use your own for other options) and do not use the eq in the realtek audio console app, if you use opticle out(192000@24Hz), and the Realtek sound is very close to HDMI Dolby, very close, specially the bass.

Heya MoKiChU, what constitutes a motherboard as (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS MB Gen1) or (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS MB Gen2)?
I have a ROG Strix X570-I Gaming motherboard that I would assume is now classified as Gen1 since you mentioned that ROG Strix X570-E Gaming is considered Gen1.
I currently have Gen2 drivers installed without issue.

    Hi,

You have to report this to Microsoft and/or ASUS (so that they forward to Realtek, A-Volute, DTS ...), or wait for drivers and/or Windows 11 update.

I will clarify this point which generates a lot of confusion for every ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards users.

All ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards without ALC408x codec that exist on the market today are Gen1 (Intel 4xx & AMD 5xx).
All ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards without ALC408x codec that will be released from today are Gen2 (Intel B660/H670 ...).
All ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound AMD TRX40 motherboards without ALC408x codec (USB) that exist on the market today are Gen1 (AMD TRX40).
All ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards with ALC408x codec (USB) that exist on the market today and that will be released from today are Gen2 (Intel Z590/Z690 & Last AMD X570 ...).

ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards Gen1 are Gen1 and Gen2 drivers compatible.
ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards Gen2 are only Gen2 drivers compatible.
ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards Gen1 (USB) are only Gen1 drivers compatible (to date).
ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards Gen2 (USB) are only Gen2 drivers compatible.

So you may ask me why offer Gen1 and what is the point of installing Gen1 when Gen2 are backward compatible ? Because some people wants to get rid of all Third Party apps while having a working EQ in Realtek Audio Control via a workaround, which is not possible with Gen2 (only possible with SS3 motherboards without workaround or SS3-DTS motherboards Gen1 with workaround).

So to answer you simply, as long as you are not looking for something other than what is intended by ASUS (EQ in SS3 app), you can use the Gen2 drivers package (and it more optimal because it avoids SS3 APO & DTS APO conflicts).

Note : If you switch from Gen1 drivers package to Gen2 drivers package and vice versa, follow CLEANUP process.

Thank you very much for this clarification. Hope people stop asking this from now on :).

    Hi,

Delete the RealtekHSA_xxx folder (which is in Realtek folder in your drivers packages).

    Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS MB) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

With Gen2 (didnt test Gen1 yet) Windows Update is offering me DTS Software Componet Updates.
2 Drivers show up, both from 2018:
    - 1.0.11.0
    - 1.0.10.0
