Hey MoKiChU, just to make sure I'm using the right drivers, I have the ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO WIFI which uses SS3 - I don't need any of the other packages such as DTS, etc. correct?

Hello, my SSIII and SR3 launch this message: Current system is not compatible or audio driver is not installed properly.
I have my mobo (asus ROG STRIX z490-e) not long ago. I've used armoury crate to install and update drivers, but version numbers don't fit with the ones provided in Asus support web.
How do I proceed to update my sound drivers? I don't know wich one should I download from the first post.
Thanks in advance. -

02-07-2021, 04:45 PMHyperion101No DTS support?
Hello, and thank you for a very useful thread! I own the ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F WiFi so I downloaded the Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS MB) drivers and followed the instructions correctly. My Realtek audio console shows only Sonic Studio III under Sound Effects and no DTS. Is it possible to use the newest drivers aswell as utilise a DTS Interactive or DD Live support? I don't know what else are the 3rd party DTS services for, then.
-
02-07-2021, 05:41 PMHyperion101
I am looking for specifically DTS Connect, not Unbound. I tried older Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers which expose the DD Live/DTS Interactive functions and it worked, but I wasn't fully satisfied with it, as when switching back to 5.1 direct mode, my rear surround pair wouldn't work, and I prefer the new ROG-themed audio console over the vintage Realtek control panel. But using the older control panels would be the least of my issues, at least I could have access to EQ for the direct Speakers output without needing a 3rd party app (Sonic Studio III) that frequently breaks down, forcing me to reinstall it every couple weeks.
If my mobo doesn't support it, why the unlocked driver worked? Besides, the new Realtek Audio Control console said something like "DTS audio effects" instead of the "Sound Effects" title above the "Disable All Sound Effects" checker under the Speakers category, if neither Sonic Studio nor Sonic Radar is installed. Is that just a bug? -

I have not been able to install the audio drivers from Asus support website or the ones from the OP. Are there others things to try to get this onboard audio to work?

Currently sticking with v6.0.9091.1, I'm having weird issues with the newest driver it just wont seem to load the realtek audio console (Yes i followed scrupulously the CLEANUP process)
-
02-20-2021, 05:51 PMchinotaur
Did the same and also cannot load the Realtek Audio Console app. I had the computer store check the board and they were able to get my board to install the audio drivers from the driver CD, which is V6.0.8960.1. They used a 2700x CPU. Could my 5950x or the Dark Hero not playing well with my CPU be the issue?

02-20-2021, 08:32 PMempleatProper driver installation
Because I read here you should uninstall previous Realtek drivers, before installation of new ones. Please can you tell me: should I also uninstall Microsoft OEM High Definition Audio drivers, before installing Realtek ones? And should I restart PC, before installing new ones? I wonder: if Microsoft OEM drivers would re-install, after restart (even with disabled internet). As they are probably included in OS. I reinstalled PC lately and installing drivers, so I wanted to ask. It is hard to find information about this!
-

No need to uninstall the Microsoft default drivers at all, they are a totally different beast;)
Also, you only need to go through the uninstall and clean up process for Realtek, when you are switching from HDA to UAD drivers(or UAD to HDA)-
If you are installing the same type of driver, you can just install over the old version, then if you like(an d I highly recommend) run DriverStoreExplorere and select old drivers and delete them.
When uninstalling Realtek drivers that are in use, then you need to reboot.
When deleting old drivers that are currently not in use no reboot is needed. -

Hello all!
What is the latest driver and link for my ROG Maximus XI Formula Z390? -
02-26-2021, 05:45 PMOutsideOctaves
I'm using your ROG SS3 driver for my z390 hero xi mobo, when it installs it installs nahimic services, what are these used for? As I don't have nahimic audio devices that I know of, I' just have the SupremeFX (RealTeck) chip/driver set right?
The reason I ask is that these services slow down the loading of browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Edge, et cetera.
If I stop and disable the service, it solves the issue and thus seems superfluous for my system, unless I'm missing something entirely here? -

All they are for is sound positioning really, and DTS is only useful if you have hardware the can play DTS, like headphones, soundbar or a sound system.
For just equalization and effects you can just use the UAD Realtek app.
I really like the sound I get from SonicStudio, as I have a SHARP HT-SBW460 Dolby Atmos Soundbar and Dolby Atmos RIG 500 headset, and when listening to music or watching tech videos, SonicStudio upmix option gives more clarity. Plus you can set up four individual EQ effects settings depending on what you listen to.
To uninstall just right click the icon and select uninstall, so you have one less service running in the background.

I have problems that every time i reconnect 3.5mm headphone, sound is a bit different. Sometimes is distorted badly so i need to reconnect headphone to fix it. Is it hardware problem or it could be sonic studio 3 or other software making problems? I heard from various forums that sonic studio is problematic.

Which jack are you using, motherboard(back) or the front(case jack)?
Some case manufactures cheap out on the front jack set up, by using low quality wiring with bad jack shielding.
I personally have had no sound problems with Sonic Studio for about a year, specially when you get Nahimic updates though Windows update now, and @MoKiChU also includes the latest version with his motherboard sound driver packs, even updating the single components like SS3(Nahimic) and republishing the updated pack. -
02-28-2021, 12:28 AMclayman87No analogue audio with enhancements enabled
Hi,
I have no analogue audio out (rear green mobo output) when audio enhancement is enabled (in windows or Realtek audio Console). It works fine if I disable enhancements but then I lose the functionality of SS3 - I want to be able to use the equalizer. Digital audio works fine over usb to an external DAC; however, I cannot use SS3 to shape this digital audio. I suspect it's an issue with one of the SS3 drivers.
This problem started when I updated Windows 10 to Version 20H2. I've followed MoKiChU's instructions (ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard) and conducted a full cleanup and reinstall a couple of times with no luck. I also completely uninstalled third party Yamaha drivers for my DAC and disconnected it during this process to avoid any driver conflicts.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

There's a bunch of %13% as path name that should point to the system folder, but the variable isn't set to point to a folder in the 6.0.9107.1 service and APO .inf. On my machine pnputil didn't copy the files in the Windows/system32 folder and it kept them in the driver store folder.

Ok call me crazy but just stumbling upon this thread while grabbing newer drivers and such since Asus just sucks and doesn't keep the pages up to date. I have no clue which is needed other then one that is labeled for ROG since I have a Z390I and Z490 board. So I need one of the 3 that have ROG in red but what is the difference in them?
