I personally have had no sound problems with Sonic Studio for about a year, specially when you get Nahimic updates though Windows update now, and @MoKiChU also includes the latest version with his motherboard sound driver packs, even updating the single components like SS3(Nahimic) and republishing the updated pack.

i use rear jack with 3.5mm extension cable. Motherboard is crosshair viii hero so quality shouldn't be issue.

Unfortunately, this latest version broke my audio, there is no sound anymore with ROG Crosshair VIII Hero. Is it possible for you to share link for previous version of the ROG DTS driver? :(

However, if you use an jack extension cable, this detection will not be done if you unplug then plug your headphone at the female jack extension cable level. For the automatic impedance detection to take place, the disconnection & reconnection must be done at the jack motherboard level.

I always do that, but impedance detection sometimes detect 90 ohms, sometimes 30 so sound is little different, what could be problem?

I can not confirm. I tested it. It works fine for me (ASUS Strix B360-I Gaming). I think it is due to your system configuration.

I checked my overclocking settings and it seems that it was because of the VRM spread spectrum being disabled. I just had to enable it. Thx for the response, it was on my side.

    Crackling sound
    Hello my friends.

I need your help because I'm struggling for a few months, after the 20H2 update and still can't figure it out. I have a Prime B350-Plus MB, with Realtek ALC887/897 and a 5.1 sound system. I tried almost every driver I found online, and everything is fine for a few minutes or hours. Then, it starts to distort or crack at some levels of the sound/music, and I have sound delays on some Youtube clips. I have the same problem on browsers or apps, Spotify, Winamp, or movie players. Games are not affected.
It worked with some drivers, but only for 2.0, not for 5.1.
Now, I have installed your AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG-TUF-PRIME_RTK_MB_v6.0.9102.1, but the sound is still broken. I uninstalled the older driver, and installed this one. I don't know if it was something else required to work properly.

    Do you have any suggestion?

    Thank you very much.

L.E. Thank you MoKiChU. I read all your driver related posts, but somehow I missed the tips section... I had the hibernation settings off, but now I tried the MSI configuration. I'll wait to see what happens. So far, 5 hours without issues.

    Hi,

Got a new mobo for few months now its Asus B550-F.
Since I bought her I always use drivers from this thread for onboard audio.
But I have noticed that windows reliability monitor every few days detects some audio related problems.
For example most common error is:

Controls the DTS audio processing object stopped working

    or

Windows audio device graph isolation stopped working

Otherwise my audio is completly fine while gameing and watching movies, listening to music.
But I dont know what is causing these errors and should I be woried?

Latest two driver versions shared here are broken as hell, Windows completely stops giving sound output from stereo jack, and OP loves removing old driver versions and not sharing them again even if people ask for them.

I don't recommend anyone to use those drivers until OP starts providing links for previous versions (he's also removing them from mega.nz even if you somehow have links for old versions, lmao), if you don't want your audio driver get messed up.

Sorry to hear/read that. The best practices I follow when it comes to driver updates is keep backups of the last two working drivers before the update so that I can rollback in the event that driver causes issues. This is the is not just for this driver, but all driver/software updates which I do manually, while for software and drivers which automatically update, have periodic system backups automatically scheduled (where system imaging is done) so that you can roll back to a state before the update was done. I would recommend you start doing that, if possible as I can imagine how much it sucks as you stated earlier.

@Mokichu, thanks again for the driver, seems to work well as usual on my end.

The failure is on your end, either you're grabbing drivers for the wrong chipset, or the wrong FFxx version(example FF00, FF03, FF06 and so on).

    Well, I give up..
I tried everything MoKiChU has said, clean install, MSI enabled, system is on high performance and all the other drivers and BIOS up to date. Everything is fine for a few hours after system boot, and then it starts to pop/crack, and still have sound delays on some Youtube videos.

Downloaded the UAD - ASUS ROG SS3 MB package (driver version 6.0.9116.1 WHQL [02/02/2021]) for my ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi mobo and followed the instructions for the ROG SS3 motherboards. It appears that it did install the Realtek device drivers, but the Realtek service is missing. I was also unable to install the Realtek Audio Console via the MS Store (was not installed automatically) as it throws an error code every time.

I didn't record the specific error, but the suggestions I found related to that error included resetting the MS Store, re-registering packages, and so forth. I did reset the MS Store to no avail. Ultimately, I was able to get the Realtek Audio Console back by re-registering the specific package in PowerShell, but due to the lack of the Realtek service, it would just give me RPC errors.

Luckily I had created a system restore point for this eventuality and I was able to fully restore my previous configuration, no harm no foul. That said, I would like to get this working if possible. I followed the cleanup procedure exactly, can't imagine I missed anything. Am I using the wrong package? I don't believe the Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi has the DTS package (I don't see have it installed, but I may have removed it), but it someone could confirm I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance!

    SS3 Application Manager
Hey everyone, does anyone know how to reset the application manager list in SS3. I have tried resetting the app and reinstalling it but that still does not reset the list. Whay i would like to reset the list is because some apps don't appear on the list (new ones not showing up, while some existing ones are hidden yet profiles are being applied which i obviously can't change). Doe s any one here has a solution for this, i don't believe it is linked to the driver as i have used multiple drivers and nothing has resolved the issue.

    You are a gem @MoKiChU:)

You are Technical Boy(the tech god from the show American Gods)

This is something I was wondering about and tried manually in SS3's files, but failed.

A note for others using it, if you just run it strait, it nukes your current in use Realtek install too, best is the following, in this order:

    1. Go to Device Manager, and uninstall the older drivers, or use DriverStoreExplorer.
    2. Then while in Device Manager, disable active Realtek, and Nahimic.(Reboot required)
    3. In DriverStoreExplorer uninstall the remaining Realtek and Nahimic drivers, reboot.
    4. In Ccleaner run the Registry cleaner(can use the portable version)
    5. Reboot.
    6. Reinstall the latest Realtek drivers.
    7. In Store app go to "All Owned" and find the Realtek app and Sonic Studio and reinstall them, and set up to your liking.
    8. Now Sonic Studio is totally reset and advanced mode will start fresh.

I tried to rep you MoKiChU, but it seems I need to spread the love a bit more, but thanks for posting the ss3 cleanup tool, and I've added it to my Excel downloads sheet, I just need to update my Sway with the above instruction and linking to the cleanup tool.

The drivers listed here are not modified, they are just newer (usually current from Realtek) than those listed on the official Asus downloads. If you have no issues with the Asus ones, you can update if you would like to these but depending on your motherboard it might not do anything other than being more up to date.

I have a question for owners of Logitech Z623, after installing the latest driver update the sound of my speakers has changed in a strange way, they seem more detailed than before, both the base has been lowered from both sides. I also unpluged them from my motherboard and when it's still the same, I am not sure if the sound has improved or gotten worse. ASUS TUF Z370 PLUS Gaming is my motherboard and DTS Custom drivers have been installed!

P.S: Is there some kind of changelog?

This post is older, but now I'm having the same issue. I still have an older Realtek driver, version 6.0.8959.1 installed on a Rampage Extreme VI Omega MB. I've noticed that Sonic Studio has updated itself a couple of times without my input, obviously through Microsoft or itself, but I never bothered to open the app recently. Today I opened it to modify a couple of settings and now I'm getting the same error listed above. Do I need to update the Realtek driver as well to get SS3 to work again and if that's the case, will I always have to go through this PITA ritual if SS3 updates itself yet again in the future? Any way to prevent SS3 updating and just leave well enough alone when things are working? And obviously I will have to go through the cleanup process before installing the new version every time. I'm almost to the point of buying a dedicated sound card.

Also, which Realtek driver is the right one for my MB? I noticed that there is one other Asus Tuff/Prime DTS version listed with a suffix. I last installed just the DTS version last time. Yet there is other DTS version with a suffix and 2 others listed with additional suffixes without explanations as to which MB's they apply to and I see this question asked over and over on this forum so there's obviously confusion here. Is there a list somewhere that parses what MB is what for the driver's listed?

I edited my post while you were responding to mine MoKiChU. Sorry about that. So apparently I installed the incorrect version for my MB last time since my file is listed as the AsusTuff/DTS version. I guess I've got to wipe that one with the cleaner tool. Thanks for that info. But why did it work so long, many months I estimate, without an issue? Was it because SS3 updated itself recently?

OK, everything is working great now. Between the App Uninstalls, Driver Store Explorer .inf purging and the Cleanup Tool, all the Realtek and Nahimic remnants were removed from my system. Several reboots and installs later, thank you very much MoKiChU! You're a hair saver. I gather whenever MS updates SS3 behind my back in the future, I need to start looking for a newer Realtek driver if SS3 throws a fit. What a PITA. Also, what in the heck is wrong with Microsoft? For entertainment's sake, I opened the MS Store app from the Start Menu to see if I could find those 2 apps since they didn't auto-install. Did a search for both the Realtek Audio Console and Sonic Studio 3. Nothing, bupkiss, NADA. Then I used your handy links for finding them in the MS Store via a browser and viola!, there they are as plain as the nose on Microsquish's face. What a bunch of morons at Microsoft and thank you for providing the links to find both of those because MS is no help whatsoever.

    Note to Mokichu,

I have been using your updates for a long time and as mentioned before am very grateful for your input.

However it has been impossible to do a thorough clean before updating my sound the last 6 updates or so , due to this process disabling my Kaysuda Hello camera on re login.
If I just update the realtek driver without this process, subsequent reboots work normally . I installed the camera on 25/12/20 and otherwise the systems and sound works 100%.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, as I would prefer to clean the system before updating realtek.

    Thanks
