I got that same issue when I tried to install older drivers to fix the issue I was having with the newest. try using the clean-up instructions and remove all realtek, avolute, nahimic, etc. entries from your driver store with the force deletion method, reboot, and then try installing again.
Edit: probably was a different issue, but when in doubt a clean install is never a bad idea so long as you know how to do that without generating more problems for yourself.
edit 2: NVM I was right the first time it is exactly what happens if there's no newer driver to install, haha -

Can I use any of these audio drivers for an MSI motherboard (B360M Mortar)? It uses Realtek Audio Control, which one would you recommend me if it is possible to use it?
