There is only one spot, and you had it. You didn't change the board yet?

I'm aware of your situation. I was asking the other guy a question. Both of you guys have the same motherboard and it's the only Motherboard in the Strix Z5xx series with a USB C audio port. I'm curious (in general) if the Audio Driver installer on the support page installs both USB and analog audio jack drivers. Anyway, my question to him had nothing to do with you. My apologies if there was a misunderstanding.

9200 sound really good.
For those that don't have 9137(the best over all up until 9200), use these.(or if you want something newer, might be a good idea if you are switching to Windows 11. I bet even Realtek is working to make sure their CODEC chip drivers work well with the new OS).
In any case 9200 is real good and I marked them with red, on my driver download spread sheet
Attachment 89381
For any driver geeks here in ROG Forums, since I started saving MoKiChUs Realtek drivers on my OneDrive(only the SS§ ones for my system Maximus X Hero) here are the best ones since I started September 2019:
8831.1
8867.1
8923.1
9045.1
9137.1
9175.1
9200.1
What makes a good driver to me is, if it has the same quality as either Intel or Nvidia HDMI passthrough, in that highs & mids are well balanced, and sub bass has clear thump and (especially) punch and is not muffled.
The only advantage of HDMI over Realtek is, with HDMI you can use SS3 upmix surround to let any Dolby/Dolby Atmos playback device give you a much wider sound stage than Realtek. -

Thanks once again you champion, perfect driver as usual, my hat goes off to you sir/madame.
Had a question about VAD Media Driver, I see windows attempts to install it as an optional update of the SS3-Only package (it is included in the SS3-DTS package but not in the SS3-Only package). Wanted to know why it is not included with the SS3-Only package? -

Thank you for the prompt response, and the update links. I did not know it was specifically for the SSVM (yes i see it in the driver listing, but wanted confirmation due to what windows was doing), but I understand why windows is trying to give it as an optional update via windows update - as it tries to cover both sets of bords who use nahimic enhancements.
I remember when you split it, and still have the link/files to the first separate SSVM files to install it by itself :D . Enoy the rest of your day. -

New Realtek audio drivers are coming out so often as to wonder if it really is worth updating to every release. Too bad there are'nt any release notes so we can check what is fixed or added... @MoKiChU do you know?
-

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I bet the 6.0.9200.1 driver (or a newer one) will be build into the RTM release of Windows 11. Yes a shame Realtek does not provide a changelog. The same could be said about Asus BIOS releases aswell... They only write "Improved stability and performance" or something to that effect :p -
07-21-2021, 01:13 PMCliff S
6.0.9205 sounds closer to HDMI passthrough than 9200.1 did,
But it also is missing the punch on bass 9200 has, but has lots of thump.
Note: When I test, I compare always first with all sound enhancements turned off, then with my favorite settings.
On 9205 Mids and highs are about the same as 9200, maybe the highs are a little crisper(on a high hat) though.
The way I see it, so far for Windows 11, for gamers(explosions) and Brutal Slam Death metal and Trap & Bass junkies listeners(drop bass), 9200 is better, with the punch.
And for movie and any other music 9205 is the better choice.
Thanks again @MoKiChU:). -

07-30-2021, 06:36 PMXA4BETotal noob here, what's this about?
Hi everyone,
Total noob here... needs some explanation.
I've recently build a new PC with an ASUS X570-E GAMING motherboard. It's been 10+ years since I built one :p
Do I need any of these drivers posted here and if so, why and which ones?
Are the original drivers not okay?
If I understand correctly, the original drivers provided don't work correctly for surround sound. I have a 5.1 system BTW.
These drivers provided here are modified to make everything work as intended? Am I correct?
What I find confusing on the ASUS driver download page is which ones to choose. The top ones seem to be the most recent ones. But then there are 'older' entries which seem to provide more or even other apps/drivers.
I even had to download additional drivers through Windows update to get my Bluetooth working. Not sure that's how it's supposed to be
I also installed Sonic Suite but this wasn't inlcuded in the drivers. I found this by accident in the Windows store. What gives, ASUS?
Anyway, I would really appreciate some help or explanition if I need additional/other drivers and which ones to pick. I'm quite confused.
And thanks MoKiChU for your work (even if I wouldn't need them? :D )
Thanks in advance! -

Wow, great. Thank you for replying so fast and the explantion!
Okay, I'll give it a try, making sure I follow your steps correctly.
EDIT: one more question, does this mean the next updates will install correctly through Windows update or should I come back here and update from your links?
I have bookmarked this page nonetheless.
EDIT2: Ah, this is what I need to do to update:
Quote:
- Launch "Install.cmd" by right-click Run as admin > Automatic restart when install is done
Note : Realtek Audio Control/Console + Sonic Studio III & Sonic Radar III + DTS Sound Unbound will be updated automatically via the MS Store.

Hey!
Does anyone know which are the correct drivers for the
ASUS ROG Maximus XII Extreme? -
07-31-2021, 03:12 PMMrhunter_
Thanks for your answer :)
Perhaps you can help me with an problem :)
After i installed the drivers (and i connected the Front Audio Jack from the Case to the Board) the Microphone is without function when i connect IT on the rear mic Jack. On Front Panel its running. -

THANK YOU so much.
the official asus driver on the "support" page for my Maxiumus XII Forumula just would not work and had none stop issues (actually ALL of their drivers are causing me issues at moment so trying to find all the rest as i cant see forum page/topic for the xii formula one - seen ones for hero but not formula)
Update: I did have version 6.0.9159.1 on my ssd
Decided to install windows 10 to new m.2 ssd and installed 6.0.9205.1 as listed - but the stupid Nahimic service is conflicting with nvidia drivers so i had 20+ BSOD in past 1 hour until i used msconfig to disable Nahimic service on startup.
Should i use the 6.0.9159.1 instead? Or did the windows -self install version of realtek drivers cause this? (I did fresh install but did not do a clean up as i assumed there would be no drivers as i didnt have any realtek or any nahimic software installed)
(i spent 4 hours trying to find what the heck was causing the BSOD as ive had the same issues when i first installed windows 10 so i cant remember what i did to fix it, whether it was this driver version before or if i just/already disabled Nahimic service from starting - even when i removed nvidia drivers i still had the glithes so it may be conflicting with more than one driver) -
08-03-2021, 08:02 PMdragonwolf5589
thanks tested few different ways, as soon i do anything other then realtek only i get bluescreen errors.
bluescreenview shows nvlddmkm.sys + ntoskml.exe + dxgkrnl.sys is causing the bluescreens -
what is strange is my windows 10 on the 860 ssd is exact same drivers except older version 6.0.9159.1 (its the ONLY driver on my old ssd install that i installed from this forum, the other drivers you have/linked to on the chipset thread i hadnt yet but had issue with the asus website ones.
the second i install this realtek it works until i try to play a game or do graphics test then bluescreens - sonic software and dts software NOT installed.
I'm going to try another clean-up and installing the older version to see if that does anything, as the old ssd theres not been a bluescreen for a year but it runs the drivers you provided for Realtek (i just cant remember if I thanked you back then so i thanked you today for keeping the drivers up to date etc) - so surely if it works on the old ssd without bluescreen and with enhancements etc, it should on the nvme drive.
i'll update later see what happens -
08-03-2021, 09:49 PMdragonwolf5589
update:
No matter what i do, even the old version is giving BSOD - I just cant remember how on earth its working on the Old SSD perfectly fine, but the exact same audio driver from this thread, along with the official nvidia drivers from the geforce experience, works fine old ssd, but on the new m.2 nvme ssd it just wont go past 10-30 seconds of 3dmark/pcmark/occt tests at all due to the BSOD always tracing down to Nahimic service.
so not sure how to get it to work, but installing and removing the third party folder has worked perfect. just a shame the Nahimic software is causing major issues when it works fine on the old ssd im moving from. (i want windows to be full functional on the new ssd before i format the old one to use as the games drive)
if anyone has any idea how to get it working let me know, as i cant remember how it works on the old ssd on my VERY old motherboard, the graphics card seemed to be failing but worked fine in this motherboard, until i had bsod but then fixed it removing and reinstalling drivers over and over and cant remember how or what triggered Nahimic software and nvidia to work together.
ONLY differences are:
Old: Samsung 860 Evo 2TB, all asus drivers except audio from this thread but older version, and chipset from intel website, nvidia geforce software
New: Samsung 970 Evo 2TBm all drivers from the forum/ones you listed as the asus ones have errors, bugs and outdated, Nvidia geforce software
Forgot to say, ALL drivers except chipset version are identical over the two ssd's, both latest graphics drivers,
its not major thing to go without it, but it worked fine before for the past year. and i cant see the updated chipset drivers and ethernet drivers causing it to trigger -

Ok I just finished testing and comparing 9209.
It is the perfect balance between 9200 & 9205
Definitely a keeper, and probably the best, I think it even beats 9137, which has been the long running favorite of mine.
Thanks for the update @MoKiChU:) -
