    uhmmm.,, in a slot PCIx1 ?

Could you used the last pcix 3.0, to x4...

    maybe pcix 3.0 x4 ... it´s similar x8 in pcix 2.0 ?

    8x-4x-4x...

No it's a pcie 2 slot. No you can't use last pcie 3 slot. Nvidia cards need a minimum of 8x for sli. If ur running amd cards then I guess using last pcie 3 slot would be ok.

    Yeah... But... Its x1 size...

    Asus raid r :E

    PCIe 2.0 x2; 240GB; Dual LSI® SandForce SF-2281 controllers; Toshiba® 19nm 16k page size Sync MLC NAND Flash; sequential read/write speed 830/810MB/s; Up to 100,000 4K read/write IOPS*

I like this mb, but the limit of pxi1 size... I dont sure...

Could we install cards x4 size bus in this smalls pcix 1?...

    Slots
    3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8 or x8/x4/x4)
    1 x mini-PCIe 2.0 x1
    3 x PCIe 2.0 x1

And... Does the armor of mb permit this install ?

    http://www.ocaholic.ch/modules/xcgal....php?pid=43485

The img see that asus raid r is more long...

    And the last question:

    PCIe Bandwidth Comparison (Each Direction)
    * PCIe 1.x PCIe 2.x PCIe 3.0
    x1 250MB/sec 500MB/sec 1GB/sec
    x2 500MB/sec 1GB/sec 2GB/sec
    x4 1GB/sec 2GB/sec 4GB/sec
    x8 2GB/sec 4GB/sec 8GB/sec
    x16 4GB/sec 8GB/sec 16GB/sec

With 2.0 in x1 go to 500 mb/s... Asus raid r can do 800 mb/s if it in x2 pcix... And a good sdd in sata 6 can do 600 mb/s...

I dont sure about all this... But i think something rare options install...

Ok I see the confusion. No worries. I do wonder how people with new boards will connect this.

some people dont like that sking is aluminium... bad for watter?

and i think that watts energy are not optimizate....

    Maximus VI Hero:

Put it in the Black slot, as long as you're not using the other PCIe 1x slots.

[*1: The PCIe 2.0 x16 slot (PCIEX4_3) supports up to x4 mode. It shares bandwidth with PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. The default setting is x1 mode.
    *2: The PCIe 2.0 x1 slots (PCIEX1_1/2/3) will be disabled when PCIe 2.0 x16 slot (PCIEX4_3 ) operates under x4 speed.]
