Thanks, restsugavan. I am somewhat disappointed with VROC. It has great potential but Intel doesn't seem to support it well. Maybe it is still too new. I would love some more lanes on the CPU too....

Is VROC worth it?
I have seen all the problems people on this board have had with getting VROC to work on the Rampage boards. Special thanks to JustinThyme for all the info provided.
My question is, was it worth it?... -

Thanks, Raja. But who am I kidding. I love to experiment and I am in the market for an X299 system. So I'll definitely be getting this board when available. With a couple 760P drives it should be fun...

Would this board allow me to run 2 GPU's in SLI and 2 Intel M.2 drives in VROC RAID with a 44 lane CPU? If so, would the RAID setup be noticeably faster with only 2 drives?

Oh well, thanks. Will the DIMM.2 socket allow a bootable RAID configuration? Or are there enough onboard M.2 slots for this?

Bootable RAID
Can the VROC feature have a bootable RAID 0 with non-Intel drives? Or will I need to use the slower chipset RAID 0 for my Samsung 960 Pro boot drives?

VRM Temps
What are the max temps you should see for the VRM during a stress test? Also, how do people actively cool the VRM? A blowhole fan in the side of the case? Is there any fan mount that attaches...

OK, I decided to be the guinea pig. I ordered the Samsung XP941 and will try it in my Rampage board. The transfer rate is much higher than standard SATA 6GB so hopefully I'll notice some difference.

M.2 Options
Any recommendations for a 4 lane M.2 SSD? Also, reviews show that these drives can hit 113 degrees C. (From Puget Systems review of the Samsung XP941). Will the Rampage board stand up to these temps?...
