Everything is working fine here Windows 10 pro 1901 using the latest drivers from the [DRIVERS] Intel Chipset/Ethernet/MEI/SATA (1xx/2xx/3xx Series) thread.

On release day the first few batches of the Maximus X Hero had a vrm sensor, then it got removed on later boards.
You can check using HWiNFO64 under the Asus EC section, VRM temps are monitored...

I am wondering that too.
All ROG Maximus boards have been updated with new Bios except the ROG Maximus X Code and the ROG Maximus X Formula.
I guess they updated the Bios first for the more popular...

The ROG MAXIMUS X HERO BIOS 2003 changelog on Asus site lists the following.

CPU's don't have a BIOS chip.

Don't you find it strange that for almost all boards the changelog is always (Improve system performance) with no other info?
Plus i find it hard to believe that other Strix boards got microcode...

There is no need to update Bios if your PC is working just fine.
Unless you are concerned about all the Intel security flaws then i advise you to update as you are on a really old Bios.

I decided to just go for it and got another kit of [Trident Z RGB] F4-3200C14D-16GTZR and everything is working just fine at rated speeds and timings.
I ran HCI memtest 12 instances...

Your audio problems might be installed driver/software related.
Try running LatencyMon 6.70 to check if that's the case.
