I think I solved the problem. As you already suggested, I added an Asus 3.1 USB card I had left over. Plugged it into that. Drivers look to be there already under windows 10. 2 ports on the card....

The board gets to a CPU code and shuts off again, then comes back up and boots into Windows. No difference with 0702. No critical errors in Windows with this but it would be nice for it just to boot...

You might try manual instead of xmp and tune your voltages. Some of my settings are here post 10 for my kit, but every memory kit and cpu and motherboard are different so you may have to tweak things...

I haven’t seen Maximus tweak modes in the bios for x299. Have I missed it?

XMP isn’t *working very well with memory speeds above 3600. Probably needs manual mode.*

I’m using crate. Some of the bugs in crate have improved. Controls most everything fairly well. Still a lot of complaints though in the forums.

Oh, sorry, I meant that one wonders how compatible the kit is since it’s not on Asus QVL even though it’s on the QVL for GSkill. Asus may not have updated their list.

That’s a lot of memory. May need some Uncore voltage plus SAV and VCCIO. Is that the windows memory diagnostic? Have you tried this:
