i got the same mobo... my speakers run out of the back and work perfectly fine. i tried both modes with device routing on and off and i have the same issue

ive had this same exact issue since i got this mobo... and i cannot find a fix for it... ive built several PC's before and i have rebuilt my z270 machine twice over trying to solve the issue....

1 of the main selling points of this board is the ability to send different audio to different sound systems hooked up.... for instance playing CSGO having the games sound come to the headphones...

when i use the mic input on the front panel as an audio output it works fine the sound is clear..... like i said the sound works initially as soon as plug my headphones into the audio out port.....

ya i guess i got a faulty board.... my 2nd 1 already.... 1st board the LEDS didnt even work...

yes its enabled... i have my speakers hooked up to the back. the convenience of it being in the front was so i can easily hook up my headphones without having to go to the back of the case..

i just got a new case.. an s340 elite.. the front audio cable is only a hd audio connector there isnt a regular ac-97 at all.

ive been having issues with my front panel audio on my z270 code... i tried using my system with just the bare essentials and i still could not figure it out.

i just tried switching from HD audio...

does your front panel headphone out work?? mine did for 2 days then it stopped and now it just buzzes

i did that... i did a good job cable managing and tried rerouting the front panel audio by itself with the least interference... this is definetly a software related issue because it will sound...

i have the code also.. for some reason my front panel audio wont work and i dont think there is a fix yet. i might do a fresh reinstall myself

back panel audio works on my speakers... however when i put my headphones in the front panel it works with static until i click ok on the sonic studio 3 identifying it is headphones.... then it...

im using the 3200 16 gb RGB tridents...

plugged in and worked instantly... gotta turn xmp on for the 3200 tho.

when i first set up the system... the front panel worked.... now the front panel is distorted with interference and static... thought... repositioned the front panel hd audio connector wire away...
