Yeah, that was my assumption too, but you know how marketing works... It's why I bought 4266mhz RAM to begin with.

I wouldn't even begin to know where the instability lies. It seems more common from cold boot, or even when warmed, but it's fairly inconsistent.

I'm running B-Die (and RAM on the QVL) and still have weird ram training on reboots, despite timings mostly being manually set, MRC Fastboot on etc.

I set all of my RTL's to 60 (after RTL/IOL Training enabled) and IOLs are at 4.

I tried 4266mhz on mine since I built it in 2018, slightly different kit than yours, but 1802 bios allows for XMP, but it fails memtest86 (unstable). I've managed to get significantly better timings...

1802 bios? I've had some strange memory issues since then too, maybe I need to enable MRC Fastboot vs auto...

It's a shame, if I could have gotten them to work, I would have traded my 9900k/Z390-E for her 10700k/Z490-E. I kind of expected it TBH.

I must be doing something wrong, wife's Z490-E can do 2 sticks at 4266mhz (2x8) but not 4. I can't do more than 4000mhz (4 sticks) with my Z390-E.

This. I had to start from scratch with my Z390-E. I was able to achieve the same settings as before. What's interesting about 1802 is that I can run XMP (which wouldn't boot before) but XMP fails...

Correct, it's N/A because there's no fan speed. The only thing that's missing is a control for the fan, but the fan will automatically turn on if temperatures become an issue. Thing is, the VRM...

It's working as intended, the fan doesn't turn on unless temps get high enough, which is likely not going to happen unless you're doing extreme overclocking.

Figured it out, this bios was just a little pickier with auto settings (required a bit of manual tuning, and lots of training/restarts).

Yeah, tried those settings, no difference in latency. RTL and IOL levels are still way higher than on 1602.

No, there's certainly something wrong. Setting certain memory training options won't allow the board to POST.

This bios still has memory issues, either with training or overall latency vs 1602. Same problems with 1704, but better?
