I basically just manually input the detected speed, seems to be working well :)
ran memtest for an hour...

the 1401 RC bios seems to address the issue with the BIOS temp reading.
still has some fluctuation on the temp reading, but at least I can continue to use motherboard for fan controls.

there is 20C offset added for 1700x and 1800x by AMD
use ryzen master to check the actual temp to make sure it's working properly first.
currently I set my max temp in the bios to 75 to work around...

the retention kit is meant for am4, so I would just use it with default backplate.
