Just thought I'd answer the question - with HDR enabled, the GameVisual modes are irrelevant. So disabling HDR allows you to select color modes once more.
  2. XG49V - GameVisual modes greyed out on desktop

I just got my new ASUS ROG STRIX XG49VQ 49" monitor, and the menu controls (and the ASUS DisplayWidget) have the "Game Visual" menu option greyed out on the Windows Desktop. However, when I load...

Analog Headset for Maximus VIII Hero

I've always used analog gaming headsets (such as the Razer Carcharias, or the Logitech G-Series Headphones). For some reason, I've always believed that the built-in sound hardware on a motherboard...

    Got it. :)

But, again, seriously - if the only difference (as seemingly confirmed) between the Maximus VIII Hero and the Maximus IX Hero is an extra built-in M.2 slot, and support for Intel Octane...

An isolated instance of "Overclocking Failed"

I managed to get my system humming along beautifully last week -- a Maximus VIII Hero with a 6700K and 64 GB of DDR4-3400 G.Skill TridentZs, using XMP. No other overclocking or settings. Tested...

Have you tried to plug in your Logitech speakers into any other audio sources to see if they still work? It almost sounds like the speakers, or the speaker connection to rear...

Pardon my ignorance, but why would someone be offering high values for the Maximus VIII Hero when the M9H is now out?

So, in other words, the $30 difference between the M8H and the M9H are for the second M.2 slot and Octane support. Nothing else.

    Is that right?

I'm curious, will my M8H support Kaby Lake processors in the future? For instance, if I eventually swap out my i7 6700K and want to go for an i7 7700K, or better, will M8H support it, or will I need...

Do you place much credence on MemTest86+ results? In particular, the row hammer bit flips warning on Test 13?

    Thank you!
  13. XMP worked but getting MemTest warning on row hammer bitflips

After some unrated/unqualified RAM was not being stable upon XMP-OC for my ASUS Maximus VIII Hero, I installed QVL-certified RAM -- 4x16 Gb G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-3400's, and the XMP-OC proved stable...

And, if you're suggesting to keep trying with the XMP on the Corsairs that I've already written off, are you saying that I should try increasing the voltages on the 16Gb x 2 DDR4-3200s to 1.38? Is...

For what it's worth, I went with the F4-3400C16Q-64GTZ -- and just ordered it today -- after some false-starts and difficulties overclocking (mostly with XMP) the Corsairs 2x16GBs. At least the...

    XMP did the trick

    Hi Everyone,

I can confirm that going into EzMode (F7) in BIOS, and turning on XMP correctly detected my XMP DDR-3200 with 16-18-18-36-1.344V settings. Thanks for this tip!
