You should have been able to use the BIOS...
You should have been able to use the BIOS flashback method - usb port and button on the back of the board to recover the bios after the fail.
Resetting bios is not going to make any difference... -

I had a similar experience to you with Hynix ram. I was never able to get dule channel to work. Once I got some Samsungs bang no problem it just worked.
