X99 is on 2011-3 and there are changes, DDR4 memory compatibility for starters.

Check for BIOS updates, since as confirmed by Praz, your board is compatible :)

That probably is not everything for ROG and their Z170 boards, so don't get too bent out of shape just yet. 7th August(roughly) is when the boards will be announced.
