just insert a USB flash drive and you should be able to select file system to save it.

Did you try another power supply? Did you try replacing the power button cable? Sometimes that will cause the problem (shorting the system panel header port).

For the drive to show up, please reseat the SATA cable from both end. Clear CMOS; if the drive still not show up, try another drive to see if it detects or not.
