XMP should work fine if hes getting errors he should be testing the ram on another system!!! the only thing he needs to check if XMP is setting the correct voltages, some XMP profiles sometime do not...

I've picked up a cheap Omega board so ill be moving away from the mono block to a EK Velocity once the IHS comes.

XMP isn't guaranteed your CPU ram speed is 2666Mhz, buying not supported Ram vs an weak CPU MC is your issue, buy a 64gb kit if you want 64gb in quad.

No these are new IHS's being made they have the tabs on the sides and are better, I have ordered one will change it out soon.

ebay has a better nickel IHS now its lapped.

Gigabyte has already confirmed that there new X299G boards don't support the current 2066 CPUs mate.

That would be AMD not intel chipsets.

Sort of happy now I didn't waste money on an omega when X299G isn't far off.

No it won't not with X299G/X499 around the corner to replace the current boards, the omega has a slim chance of supporting the next gen CPU coming out.

This is why the VRMs are spread out on the omega to reduce heat also you don't need to watercool VRMs if there cooled correctly to start with.

I'm thinking of just getting an omega and forgetting about water cooling the VRMs.

Should be something coming up in Q3 for people not looking to spend the amount of cash they would flying around the world and back on a CPU and MB.

Yeah think I'm going to wait to see what comes out in Q3 when the next refresh for x299 happens, If asus releases a new board ill most likely upgrade to that and keep my 7980XE and move to a CPU...

The 9900K has bad temps die to it's thinker silicon and solider by the way.

What type of cooling are you using and what waterblock? moving to an omega does open up moving to a normal block rather than a mono but my CPU isn't a great clocker and I also paid what a 7940x cost...

From reviews you can overclock on a basic loop up to around 4.7Ghz heat only becomes a issue in a basic loop after water temps warm up, this is also pointed out about LN2
