I would use the 3.5mm on the back of the motherboard and let it do the processing.

Don't use front panel jack as the quality is not the same.

What memory slots on the board are you using, you should be using slot 2 and then slot 4.

Yes that is the correct one, just different wording. There is only one console/panel.
