You can still watch 3d through HDMI and an external 3d monitor...

A LOT of people made the same mistake.

If your display can do 120 Hz refresh rate you have a 3d capable notebook.

Look in msconfig startups for an entry to start IME, and disable it. If you can't find anything do a diagnostic startup and see if the problem persists.

Don't forget, aquastevae did a clean install, so his still isn't a "twilight zone" story. :D

He should disconnect any peripherals, and also go into the BIOS and restore optimal defaults (f9)

If that doesn't work I advise the standard thing;
1. Exchange at reseller if possible
or
2. Set...

That TB program is just a visual monitor so it would make no sense to run it but hide it.. TB is built in to the CPU.

In post #3 he says he can't see the Asus logo when this happens. That would eliminate drivers or anything Windows related.

You've wasted enough of hour time. If this was a recent purchase try and exchange it for a notebook that works. Otherwise set up an RMA so Asus can get you back up and running. :D

You're worried about that connector touching the shield? I checked with my multimeter and they are electrically connected whether they touch or not, so no problem. That part of the wire is shielded...

Added drivers for the Intel 6230 WiFi/BT adapter that many use to replace their Atheros solution.

What do you use IME for? Try uninstalling it. Then reinstalling if you need it or not at all. :)

Many users, me included, use these notebooks as desktop replacements.

The Everki Advance is nice and it fits up to 18.4"

It's automatic. Just keep it plugged in and it will stop charging at 100% and start again when the battery falls below 95%.
