It would be worth a try, if you can improve and make solid the connection to the motherboard it might help or even work. Pretty much with the G75 and g750 everyone had the issue if trying to move large amounts of data through those ports the G751 were better but the issue is still reported by some on the G752 I havn't bothered to even try on my G752VY I had become quite used to using a right angle USB adapter cable and 4 port powered hub, running all my large USB capacity hard drives off the right side ports.
