On a TUF board ? Last time I cross flashed an ASUS board all sorts of things died and never came back, unless its a unified bios on all the X299 boards. Just comparing 1102 for both it doesn't appear to be the case :

Yup would most certainly brick things or at-least lead to bad times. What tools did you use to patch the R6A bios ? Every version of UBU I've tried results in a non functional bios as does manual edits with MMtool 5.0.0.7 and the 5.2 whatever version. I haven't had this issue modding bioses in the past so it's rather frustrating.

BIOS modding and waiting on ASUS is no longer required with up to date Windows 10 builds as MSFT is pushing the microcode. This solved my virtualization issues and restored a small amount of performance under certain conditions so I'm quite pleased. I was already patching on boot in Linux, but I had some VMware workstation issues in windows that needed the 43 microcode to get sorted out. I'll flash the official ASUS bios when it eventually drops and compare, but for now I'm patched and my gremlins have been dealt with.
