GL552VW SSD help.

Hi there. I am looking to get an SSD for my laptop.
I was wondering somethings. First, Am I able to put a normal SSD in replace of the HDD? on https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Laptops/ROG-GL552VW/specifications/ is says 1TB HDD 5400 RPM
- 1TB HDD 7200 RPM
- 128GB SSD (M.2 2280)
PCIE x 4 256G
but I see people saying how they put a ssd in there with a normal m.2 ssd. I had bought a HP s700 pro and when I installed in it just went to the bios constantly. Even though there is not many things my bios allows me to do, I did see that it read the drive there so I am not sure why it didnt work.

Second, IF I am unable to put a normal ssd in my laptop, can I put this in https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-250GB-SATA-Internal-MZ-N6E250BW/dp/B07864V6CK since it is 250gb (which I see people say they put in even though the website says 128gb SSD M.2 2280) also, which would be the better choice. The one I linked or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TGIVZTW/ref=cm_sw_su_dp

Any help would be great. I am still trying to learn about this and I have searched around and could never find a straight forward answer.

First: Yes
Not sure I understand what you are saying. You took your old hard drive out and put in the HP sata? Also you want to add in a M.2 drive correct?
If you took your old hdd out then put in the new drive its blank and no operating system so that would explain why it goes to bios. I would have expected an alert saying no OS found though. I would first format and partition the HP drive, then transfer the OS to it. After that replace the old and new drive. Then add in the m.2.
Or transfer OS to the m.2 drive and then put it in.
Or
Your saying that the HP drive you put in was already formatted and had an OS on it but when you put it in it was not recognized?
Second: You can put a normal SSD in your laptop. And yes the M.2 will work also.

Understand problem now. solution:
1. Enter the BIOS setup menu by pressing and holding F2 key when powering on.
2. Switch to “Boot” and set “Launch CSM” to Enabled.
3. Switch to “Security” and set “Secure Boot Control” to Disabled.
4. Press F10 to save and exit.
5. Press and hold ESC key to launch boot menu when the Unit restarts.
6. Option to boot from DVD/other device listed.
