I ran 2 1080’s with a 4790 and experienced no bottleneck at all. You should be fine. Especially when you upgrade to the 7980x, you will see what your cards are made of since they will be running at optimal. [emoji106]

Thanks... all I wanted to know. I'll be starting out playing around with SLI on this 3 year old system before going for the full upgrade this spring and then probably make a benchmark comparison, both systems included

Just out of curiosity, I have to ask... how much more FPS did you get with your SLI-setup together with that 4790K in comparison with running a single card?

It wasn’t that big of a jump. Main part i see it in is when i render video in hd or 4k. Thats when the second card helps out. But on average in gaming, maybe 15% increase.

Ah, ok 🙂 Well, that's good though. I love to stream and render my 4K gaming videos in Cyberlink Power Director and know exactly how long it takes sometimes. I have my YouTube channel here btw for an example with my card together with my CPU as it runs today: https://www.youtube.com/user/lDFlX?disable_polymer=true
