Crosshair VI Extreme chipset finally updated from old July 2017 driver

I just noticed that the chipset driver for the Crosshair VI Extreme motherboard has finally been updated. It was updated on February 24, 2018. It says "Version 512038. AMD Chipset Driver V17.7 for Windows 10 64-bit.(WHQL)". This is actually the first update that there has been for it. Up until this point we've only had a single driver from July 20, 2017. You can get it here.

I think they may have finally updated it because I contacted Asus and Asus North America on Twitter via Direct Message and complained about it. I'm still not sure if I should install this driver from the Asus website or the one from the AMD website. Are there any differences between them?

Hi Riekopo....I'm not 100% sure but I think the latest driver for that board is the 18.10 driver....ASUS is slow to update the support page...at least slower than the source companies...

EDIT: now I'm really not sure...17.7 isn't on the list of old drivers....are you all on some custom made versions?

I tried to load this new driver, and it gave me an error. As it was loading, it said, "Radeon", which is the graphics card if I'm not mistaken. I use this Crosshair VI Extreme mobo, but this driver would NOT load for me. I would truly appreciate any feedback on this from those in the know. Thanks!

I also got an error when trying to load this driver as well. I have no idea why either of these don't seem to want to load on my system.
