    ROG SWIFT PG27UQ 144 hz ?

    I dont understand it completly.

Im looking forward to this screen ROG SWIFT PG27UQ
But i dont know how it can pull 144 hz from 4 k res ?

When the display port 1.4 cant go further than 120 hz it seems.
So what do i need to gain the 144 hz in 4k mode ?

    A new gfx card ?

As long as you have the minimum video card, you should be able to run this monitor at 144hz.

1.4 can do 144hz for 3840 × 1600 but your monitor is 3840 x 2160 which means max is as you stated 120hz. So either wait for DP 1.5 or play at a smaller resolution?

Linus Tech Tips had a video on this monitor this July. While it can do 4K @ 120Hz with 444 Chroma and HDR, it does 4K @ 144Hz with 422 Chroma and HDR.

"Is that something you are going to notice in games? Probably not. But it is noticeable with text on top of a flat color.", Linus.

Reminds me a bit of when I was setting up my PS4Pro with my 4K HDR TV monitor with HDMI. It does 2K HDR 444 Chroma. But can only do 4K HDR 422 Chroma. This is due to limitations with the current HDMI. The next, upgraded HDMI standard is suppose to fix that. So for a few days, that stat would bug me. Why can't it be perfect? When I tried to see the difference, I never could. And eventually forgot about it. And enjoyed gaming on it.
