I had posted in http://vip.asus.com/ before, the admin there suggested me to post it again here.

Hi,

First, sorry about that I didn't find a sub-forum for ASUS laptops. Then I chose to use this Motherboard sub-forum to ask my question. (To mod, feel free to move it to correct sub-forum, thanks.)

I knew some friend who tried to use latest version BIOS for his motherboard, P8Z68-V-PRO BIOS 1101, it's at 2011.12.02. It fixed his own issue about USB3 controller on that mobo. You can find it at: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z68V_PRO/#download

But I have ASUS laptop A43SV(i5), which used same USB3 controller chip, I still meet with issue. Yes, the latest BIOS for mine is Version 311 at 2011.09.27: http://my.asus.com/Notebooks/Versatile_Performance/A43SV/#download

Anyone could help me to get the same change into the BIOS of my model? Thanks a lot.

A little progress about my topic, one of my friend suggest me to update the firmware for USB3,
http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/the_best_usb3_experience/The_UASP_For_USB3.0.htm

Now it works some kind of, but still not totally stable enough. I think those BIOS experts in ASUS could find out the real solution very easily.

Hi Cavendish,

Do you mean BIOS or driver? If you mean can you update the driver with a more recent ASMedia one not listed on the ASUS site - sure, by all means try! What problems are you experiencing exactly?

1101 BIOS for P8Z68-V Pro on the website just notes 'improve system stability'. Where does this reference USB 3 exactly?

USB Boost is a specific driver licensed and related to certain motherboards, not notebooks unfortunately. It doesn't necessarily fix a bug, it's a performance update.
