Beto556

I updated my bios today in R6E
Bios 1 = 1004-1301
Bios 2 = 1102 (not upgraded)

What I find strange is that BIOS 1 shows the following ME

72449

I have last ME Driver

72453

Should not be the 11.11.50.1436 ???

What´s wrong ???

I used instructions in this thread to update the ME:

https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?99277-Does-BIOS-1102-for-S-amp-M-Include-Intel-ME-update-t...

Bios 1201 may install the correct ME but I'm not sure.

1301 will update your CPU microcode.

Thanks Hopper64 for trying to help me

When I saw that the BIOS 1301 had not modified the ME I downloaded the BIOS 1201 and had it installed.
It also did not modify the ME Firmware.

I then downloaded the file below to install Intel driver and firmware

72456

I unzipped the file and tried to run it inside Win10 PRO with administrator credentials.
Also did not work

Finally, I accessed the command promp (adm privileges) and tried to run the firmware updater directly. The answer was this

72457

I do not understand why then BIOS 1301

PS.: As if nothing was ever so bad it could not get any worse, my Win10 now say that it is not activated because hardware change

I am running into this same issue as Beto556. The ME is not updated. The thread you reference refers to a flash.bat file. Do I need to run this from the command line? I ran the asussetup on the main directory and it indicated it installed. It is indeed installed on the computer when I check but not showing in the bios.

I am confused I guess by what needs to be done here. Help would be appreciated.

I simply followed the recommendations per restsugavan in post #4 in the link, but it looks like the file that he posted is not available now. I’m hoping he will see this thread and upload the file again for you guys. Give it a day or two. Hope this helps.

Thanks. What file is that exactly? I did try to click on that link but it was no longer there. Is there an official way to do this? This is just for that USB vulnerability if I am correct. My system shows it is protected for Spectre and Meltdown.

3. Run Administrator Command Prompt on your Windows 10 64-bit

Hopper64 and restsugavan

Once again thank you for the help but unfortunately nothing works.
I did exactly as you said.
Interesting that the ASUS chipset file says it will install MEI version 11.7.0.1064 but installs 11.7.0.1057.

It happens that you always end up giving me this message (for Backup Image and Flash Firmware)

72465

PS.: Using ADm privileges

The interesting thing is that the microcode of the processor was modified to 02000043 but the firmware of the ME did not

Look like your ME Firmware was corrupted. Please trying these solution.

1. Please download RAMPAGE VI BIOS 1201 file from ASUS support page

2. Rename ROG-RAMPAGE-VI-EXTREME 1201.CAP to R6E.CAP

3. Prepare the USB Flash drive with FAT32 format.

4. Save R6E.CAP to the USB Flash Drive

5. Use ASUS USB Flashback method to downgrade your R6E to BIOS 1201.

6. The BIOS 1201 will automatically update your corrupted ME Firmware to 11.11.50.1436

7. After everything done. Update BIOS again to 1301 that the solution.*
