Thanks Chastity. I'm sending you a private message with more details.

I can understand them not stocking parts for machines not sold in their country.

However, the West Australian local service manager "Shelley" said she has been in constant contact with the Sydney office about my case. Since the model of the machine isn't sold here in Australia, they can't offer me a new one, nor import one from the USA. What else is b*llsh*t is they also can't order the parts from the USA. Instead, they apparently have to wait for shipments from China, which takes months!

Whereas if I ordered online I could have a brand new machine from the USA in a week! They can't even offer me a replacement machine.

A new machine shouldn't break after 2 weeks of usage, and then take over 3 months for a repair. My friends enjoy poking fun at this, and we're definitely not recommending Asus to anyone.

The number for the local service center is +61 8 9276 8446 and my invoice case number with them is "58265". "Shelley" is the manager and I often speak with "Phil" on the phone.

I'd provide you with the case number from the VIP Asus sight when I first registered the issue, but it's no longer available because the website says it can't search for cases older than 3 months (that's how pathetic this is!).

Also, those of you with this flickering issue, have you tried updating the BIOS to 205 to see if that changes anything?

It took over 4 months to fix my laptop! I was excited to have purchased my G73JW-3DE laptop in the USA in Dec 2010; I then moved to Australia for work. 2 weeks later it broke. Unfortunately the laptop is not sold in Australia. Asus Australia said they could not do anything except order parts from China which took over 2 months for the LCD and over 4 months for the graphics card! It would have been quicker to order a new laptop from the USA! Asus Australia would not do this or anything else such as having a new machine shipped in from Asus USA. Because I'm now working in Australia, there is no courier service offered here either. Over 4 months to fix a NEW laptop is ridiculous! Not offering a replacement machine is even worse customer service! Even my business contacts I share this story with over drinks have a laugh and shake their heads. Asus has not even tried to make ANY amends or apologies.

Thank you to @Mason and @Chastity though for trying to help.

Moral of the story: stay away from Asus products. You might buy the latest P51 Mustang, but with their lack of service and turn around time, you could have waited to get an F18 Hornet.
