HD LED KEEPS Flickering

Hi all happy Easter something strange and didn't notice until i upgrade to a new PC case my hd led keeps flickering constantly right by the nvme drive where i have installed it on my rampage 10 mb looking at task manager it say 0% disk usage anyone else notice this runnning windows 10 i had to disconnected the hd led wire from my PC case was annoying ? even all drives disconnected except nmve drive on mb led keeps flickering.

It light up when there is significant disk activity...that is normal...

OK my PC was on for over a day and it is still flickering like mad checked task manager 0% disk activity

something interesting clean install on windows 10 no apps been on over a day something keeps writing to nmve drive

The PC is never idle...background tasks and services will read and write to the drive. The threshold for activity must be different for windows task manager

hey thanks i just unplug the wire from my thermaltake view 71 case the red hd led is annoying

You could install a capacitor to attenuate transient visible (and invisible) HDD LED flickering.

A coupling cap between +5VDC and GND, or an in-line cap on +5VDC, with a small value (say, 5V and ~10µF). It's just an indicator LED, not a critical circuit, so at worst the LED won't be lit properly and a (reasonably small value) cap can't damage anything on the mobo.
